Error running MuMIn dredge function using glmer models
Dear list, I am trying to use MuMIn to compare all possible mixed models using the dredge function on binomial data but I am getting an error message that I cannot decode. This error only occurs when I use glmer. When I use an lmer analysis on a different response variable every works great. Example using a simplified glmer model global model: mod<- glmer(cbind(st$X2.REP.LIVE,

Please Post Planned Contrasts Example in lme {nlme}
Hi I am running some linear and non-linear mixed effect models and would like to do some planned contrasts (a priori contrasts) I have looked in the help and in many forums and it seems possible to do so but don't understand how to write the function and I couldn't find an example in Pinheiro and Bates. lme {nlme} has a contrasts argument but I can't understand how to code it.

I have a script that syncs my backups to an NFS mount every day The script works fine, without any errors, but there is a problem when it comes to some large files Let's take my pst file (8.9 gig) as an example Source: du -hs mypst.pst 8.9G mypst.pst ls -alh mypst.pst -rw-rw---- 1 me me 8.9G Jan 25 17:07 mypst.pst That seems OK Let's do that on the destination: du -hs mypst.pst

unaccounted for daily growth in ZFS disk space usage
We finally flipped the switch on one of our ZFS-based servers, with approximately 1TB of 2.8TB (3 stripes of 950MB or so, each of which is a RAID5 volume on the adaptec card). We have snapshots every 4 hours for the first few days. If you add up the snapshot references it appears somewhat high versus daily use (mostly mail boxes, spam, etc changing), but say an aggregate of no more than 400+MB a

Resize ocfs....?
I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below] I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04. Per instructions... Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 ' Supposedly this should work, but I get get.... The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G. Aborting.

disk space issues...any help is greatly appreciated
Hi all, Please pardon my newbie-ness on this issue....I've a / partition which is full (quite suddenly, actually) and I'm not sure how to fix this. I've searched for uneeded logs, etc in /var/log and /tmp to no avail. Assistance with doveadm backup...
Not really. The suggestions in the post seemed to be: 1. Tar the whole directory, which I have tried in the past, but a 130G directory takes over 18 hours to tar. 2. It was also suggested to rsync the directory, but the question was brought up, and not answered, about whether it was advisable to copy live mail, thus the need for doveadm sync/backup. Based on what I?ve read about doveadm backup,

Problem w/ b95 + ZFS (version 11) - seeing fair number of errors on multiple machines
Hi, After upgrading to b95 of OSOL/Indiana, and doing a ZFS upgrade to the newer revision, all arrays I have using ZFS mirroring are displaying errors. This started happening immediately after ZFS upgrades. Here is an example: ormandj at neutron.corenode.com:~$ zpool status pool: rpool state: DEGRADED status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An attempt was

Assistance with doveadm backup...
I am having trouble locating examples of how to use doveadm backup. All the examples I see are for sync. I simply want to create a backup to a network volume of the email server's vmail folders. The goal here is to have a reasonably current backup should the main drive on the email server go south. We currently authenticate our users from a mysql database. User?s mailboxes are stored as

logical volume and drive names after mirroring a centos installation via rsync
I have a working CentOS5 installation on server A's first SATA drive (sda). I had an empty SATA drive on that server (sdb). I was asked to mirror the installation of server B (installed on first SATA drive, sda), also running CentOS5, to the second drive (sdb) of server A. I am unsure what should be done after mirroring to get the new system boot. What I have done already: - On server

What is writing to my filesystem
I have a CentOS 5.2 box that every few months runs out of drivespace on its root filesystem. Last time I manually searched and deleted some big files, but don't remember what they were or what wrote to them. The applications I'm aware of on the box don't write to /. Is there a way to find the files that get written to the most, or grow the most over time? Doing a df gives me a
