Where is mysql support?
Hi, This is a slight repetition but I have discovered more.... I have the latest beta of Samba 3.0. I want to use the MySql password authentication (mainly because I don't know and don't have time to learn LDAP). However, beyond the examples I can find no other code relating to mysql in the source tree. mysql.so in particular is not there. Is it included in the source? If not

joining a samba pdc domain
dear all, i will outline the problem im having before posting my smb.conf, just in case someone knows what to trouble-check. i have a samba PDC set-up, no firewalls, the windows machine WILL mount the shares fine, but it wont join the domain. I mean that I have entered the machine name as a trust account into both passwd and smbpasswd, and when I join the domain in win2k, it actually asks me

A Group Policy Question in Win9x (yes, another one).
I am wondering if anyone has ever answered the question of group policy operability under Windows 9x. That is, I am _not_ looking for a work-around but the real thing--one config.pol file to service several groups. I have done my homework, hopefully well, but found nothing. To prove this, I will quickly summarize my findings below. Either I have found: 1. a list of unresolved (mostly

How to control TEMP directory
This is a slight rework of my last question but should be clearer. My samba installation appears to be trying to use /root/tmp as its temp directory. This is useless as when logged in as a user the system has no access to the temp directory and so nothing works. How do I pursaude Samba to use /tmp as the temp dir. I am running Samba 3 on a Mandrake system. Thanks

Encryption
Kevin, Firstly, you need to obtain the DES libraries. Then you need to tell the Samba Makefile that you wish to compile in DES encryption services and link with the DES library. Then in the smb.conf file you need to add to the [Globals] section: encrypted passwords = yes Then you need to create a separate smbpasswd file. Please read the documentation in the docs directory of the Samba source

Browsing
I am configuring Linux (2.0.33) as a local router. I am wanting to use Samba (1.9.18p3) to "manage" the browse lists on my network so that computers on each subnet can browse resources on the other subnets. My local network consists of Win95 and NT40 workstations with NT40 servers. My test configuration consists one token ring segment on one side of the Samba box (network .192) and

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
Tried that as well, but this has to be something that gets set at the OS level and loaded, as if you look at dmesg output, you can see all the vnet?? nodes as the OS comes online. So the question is, what is virt-install doing that creates the needed vnet interface that is part of the bridge. I really had to kill and reload the VM just to load a second interface.. --- Howard Leadmon

How to manually add a new interface to a bridge device?
How do you decide what MAC address to use for that VM interface? As I just tried to change the MAC to some other value close, like I made '52:54:00:34:e1:21' into say '52:54:00:34:e1:32', and when I try and load it in, I get the following: error: XML error: Attempted double use of PCI Address '0:0:4.0' Here is one of my network entries: <interface

This is usually a very active list, but looking at my procmail log the last message I have received arrived on: >From asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com Fri Jul 29 03:04:17 2005 Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] How can I use MySQL in the dialplan?
