smbmount uclinux
Hello All, Is there any information other than uclinux-dev mailing list that outlines the proper way to use smbmount on uclinux? I have looked through the mail lists on uclinux-dev and googled everything that I could think of. I have tried every form of the smbmount //windowsbox/share /mnt -o options I can think of. I always get ERRDOS ERRnoaccess (Access Denied). Robert Armenta

Samba autofs autoumount problem with C$, D$, etc refusing to unmount
This is primarily an autofs issue, but I wanted to get the problem and the workaound into the Samba lists for reference. I use RHEL 5 and RHEL 6 these days, and take advantage of CIFS automounting with the built-in Samba pacakges. The problem still occurs with the more modern cifs-utils that's been separated out in more recent Samba 3.6.x and Samba 4 toolkits as well. I use a very simple

FW: authenticating using winbindd against NT4 domain fail s (URGENT)
Hi folks, Can anyone shed light on this issue? I haven't heard from you guys. Is there anything else I could do to expedite resolution of this issue? I've read the WHATSNEW.txt and reviewed the release notes. I am not sure if I've fully grasped what needs to be done. Can someone point me in the right direction? ~Doug -----Original Message----- From: Doug Sampson

"rsync: not found" error with sshwindows
I'm trying to copy files from a Linux system to a Windows XP system running sshwindows. I can use gFTP and log in just fine. sshwindows is based on cygwin so you just use /cygdrive/c/ to access the Windows C: drive, etc. But for some reason, rsync is having problems transferring files to this system: [1710][~]$ rsync -av /tmp/foo.txt user@windowsbox.com:/cygdrive/c/

Another ld-linux.so problem
Hello, There''s another problem in ld-linux.so (and the a.out linker ld.so, too): it is possible to trick the linker into loading old version of a library if several versions are installed. This means that if you have upgraded your libc (or libdb, etc) after a security hole was discovered, updated /etc/ld.so.cache with ldconfig, and made sure the new version is used, it still might be

problem with listing users on winXP/2k+3
Hello list, Some days ago i sent an email to this ML about a problem im having with listing users on winXP/2k+3 computers. The thing is our samba PDC has +1600 users and, this time i counted, there only appear on the "security advanced settings" list box (where we select users that can read/write/execute on a windows directory share), about 500/550 users. There is no evident reason

Session setup failed: SUCCESS - 0
Hi, I am trying to mount a Windows share using smbmount. On the Linux machine which is also the Samba server, this works fine. I also have an embedded system whose target is MIPS running on Linux. I cross compile samba for MIPS target ( only smbmount ) and try running it on my embedded system. Previously this use to work. Now there have been some changes in the target environment and i have to

Extreme samba newbie needs help
Hi, I am having some troubles setting samba up nicely on my Slackware 7.1 machine. It is currently just a web/ftp server mainly for my personal use at home. I downloaded the tarball samba-2.0.7 and did everything to install it "properly." I edited services to include: netbios-ns 137/tcp # NETBIOS Name Service netbios-ns 137/udp netbios-dgm

link_to_remote renders Ajax.Updater, sometimes Ajax.Request
I''m new to Rails, but am really enjoying working with it. But i just hit a brick wall... I have two link_to_remote tags in two seperate _whatever.rhtml files. The targets of the updates are in edit.rhtml which does a render :partial to include the links. here''s some code: <%= link_to_remote ''Destroy'', :update => "libtable",

Permission denied after successful mount of Windows share
I have noticed the same thing. RedHat's smbmount can mount a read/write a share just fine. But the smbmount in SuSE 10 can not. I get "Permission denied" when I try to look at the mount using 'df.' # smbmount Usage: mount.smbfs service mountpoint [-o options,...] Version 3.0.20-4-SUSE ... # smbmount //appsrv/rxs /mnt/rxs -o
