OK we do all the steps in my previous missive and everything looks fine, landscape, collating the whole works. This is on a Laserjet 4000 with the latest PCL6 driver. The firm still has a good number of Laserjet 4s so we dutifully load up the latest PCL5E driver for the 4 and connect to the 4 on a couple of workstations. Everything goes to hell. Hello, my company recently changed the stucture of some shares (Win2000). Since then, we are not able to access these shares from Linux/Solaris anymore. I tried smbmount and smbclient and can access the top-level directory of the share and see the directory structure, but I can't see any data inside these directories. hello, maybe this is the wrong place, but according to http://us1.samba.org/samba/Linux_CIFS_client.html linux kernel cifs should be able to handle M$ dfs shares. I looked at the installation and usage instructions but it doesn't work. On the mount.cifs manpage I found no hint about a special switch to activate dfs parsing. Andrew, Thank you for your suggestions. The real problem is Rational Technical support. When you pay someone 100k+ they tend to look for any excuse to deem you "unsupported".
