Generic smb.conf file
Hi, Does anybody know where I can get an untouched smb.conf file? When I used samba-swat, it rewrote smb.conf and deleted out the comments that was in the original file that came with samba. Problems with Word 200 and Samba 2.2.6 - RESOLVED
Found this issue in the list archives, with no resolution. I think I found one. We were having this exact problem, and we resolved it by removing \*.doc\*.DOC\ from our smb.conf "veto oplocks" list, and adding \*.tmp\*.TMP\. Leaving the *.tmp files out of the veto list was causing Word 2000 to say that a file was currently locked by 'another user', even when the file was just

Samba PDC and Win2k Client
Quick Summary: I am trying to join some Win2k (Service Pack 4) machines to a NT4 style domain with a Samba PDC. One machine successfully joins the Samba domain. One fails. Current configuration: SambaPDC: - FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE - Samba 2.2.8a (from binary package) Host1 (Silv): - Windows 2000 SP4 (5.00.2195) Host2 (Plaid): - Windows 2000 SP4 (5.00.2195) All machines are

WinXP Client with Samba 2.2.3a PDC
I am having trouble with everything *except* joining the client to the domain. WinXP Pro clients join the domain via the Samba-PDC howto, all works well. Trying to browse other domain resources or attempts to logon via the "domain" bring up this error in log.smbd: [2002/03/14 01:14:36, 0] rpc_server/srv_samr.c:api_samr_set_userinfo(670) api_samr_set_userinfo: Unable to unmarshall

Problems attaching new XP box to samba domain esp. with Roaming Profiles
OK.... I don't know if these two are connected but they feel like they may be.... I've just installed a new machine XP (SP2 -prob b) machine on an OEM disk. It seems to be unable to join my Samba controlled domain properly. The Samba version is 3.0.7 - yes I know it's old but I don't want to upgrade unless I have to since there appear to be a number of dependencies to upgrade as

Samba 2.2.5-10 and Win XP SP1
Hi all, This is my first try on Samba as a PDC. I have managed to setup Samba as a PDC for my home network. The Win98 pc connects and validates no probs, but not the Win XP pc. The acc on the linux system has been created and is fine as well as the samba passwd's. The XP pc is 'changed' onto the domain with no errors, with the user name that will be used by the user to log on the

TR : Probs with paste
Thanks for the messages. What I probably should have explained is that I have a data.frame "file" with variables named "A", "B", etc.. I wanted to use paste () to pull the names "file$A", "file$B", etc. and stick them in table() and so get an output of table(file$A). For the record, someone read my thinking and sent the following solution which

SpeexBits ...
Hi Marian, I took a brief look at RFC 5574 and as far as I understand, you can simply do it like this: SpeexBits b; speex_encode(state, some320bytePCM1, &b); speex_encode(state, some320bytePCM2, &b); After that, get the encoded data with speex_bits_write and put it in your packet. bug: sample( x, size, replace = TRUE, prob= skewed.probs) produces uniform sample
When `length( skewed.probs ) > 200' uniform samples are generated in R-devel. R-3.5.1 behaves as expected. `epsilon` can be a lot bigger than illustrated and still the uniform distribution is produced. Chuck > set.seed(123) > > epsilon <- 1e-10 > > ## uniform to 200 then small > p200 <- prop.table( rep( c(1, epsilon), c(200, 999-200))) > ## uniform to 201

applying quantile to a list using values of another object as probs
Hi r-users, I have a matrix B and a list of 3x3 matrices (mylist). I want to calculate the quantiles in the list using each of the value of B as probabilities. The codes I wrote are: B <- matrix (runif(12, 0, 1), 3, 4) mylist <- lapply(mylist, function(x) {matrix (rnorm(9), 3, 3)}) for (i in 1:length(B)) { quant <- lapply (mylist, quantile, probs=B[i]) } But quant

Samba and Vista profile probs
Yes, if you're using roaming profiles Vista will automatically accept your login (if your PDC is configured correctly, check the firewall on the clients and server also, write/read access to the profile for the current user, but i guess these things were already said here but I'm only replying to your last question without having read most of the rest) The profile is not needed to be

Error while trying to manage file share
I checked my entire setup again and again. Now I can see the my share. The most relevant change I did (afaik - ofcourse): - since I am using ad backend I created dedicated unix admin groups (as recommended in the docs) - I removed the $ from the share section/defnition ([projects$] -> [projects]) - I changed browseable switch from 'no' to 'yes' Iam still getting the "event
