Vncserver not serving up my gnome desktop, just a fancy terminal!
I have the vncserver running on CentOS 4, but when I log in using vncviewer from another box, I don't see my gnome desktop, just a fancy terminal. I suspect I need to edit the ~/.vnc "xstartup file, but what do I add to fix this. On all other distros I have tried, the vncserver serves up my gnome desktop by default. -- Lee Parmeter Emperor, linXos - The Flying Penguin

Samba serving sshfs shares: can't delete files
Hello! I have samba share on my sshfs-mounted folder. All works just fine except I can't delete files from sshfs unless they are in 0777 chmodded directory. Even if that files were putted trough smbclient. I can read files, write files (regardless their directory permissions) but not delete them. Here is my share config: [myshare] comment = shre over sshfs path = /home/kli/work/remotes/dev

ocfs2 <-> 10G (10.2.01) Clusterware
RHEL 4 (CENT OS) Am I waisting my time trying to get the 10G Clusterware installer to use OCFS2 volumes for the voting and OCR disks ? The ocfs2 setup seems happy on both nodes but the 10G installer says the location entered for the oracle cluster registry (OCR) is not shared across all the nodes in the cluster Do the volumes need to mounted ? I did with no change . [root@green rc5.d]#

Problems connecting to Samba through windows
I just started using Linux a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to setup samba. I have a couple of text books I have been following which have helped me be able to run the smbclient from Linux to view both the shares on my Linux and xp machine. The problem is that I can not access the Linux files from my xp machine. I can ping the machine without a problem and can also view the machine

[LLVMdev] LLVM assembly without basic block
Thank you for this reply. If so, is there any way to merge basic blocks into a single one? Thanks, Seung J. Data reshaping with conditions
Hi sri, As your problem involves a few logical steps, I found it easier to approach it in a stepwise way. Perhaps there are more elegant ways to accomplish this. svdat<-read.table(text="Count id name type 117 335 sally A 19 335 sally A 167 335 sally B 18 340 susan A 56 340 susan A 22 340 susan B 53 340 susan B 135 351 lee A 114 351 lee A 84 351 lee A 80 351 lee A 19 351 lee A 8 351 lee A

Data reshaping with conditions
Hi Jim, Thanks for your time. But somehow this code did not help me to achieve my expected output. Problems: 1) x, y are coming as logical rather than values as I mentioned in my post 2) The values that I get for Max A and Max B not correct 3) It looks like a pretty big data, but I just need to concatenate the values with a comma, the final output will be a character

Data reshaping with conditions
Dear All, I am trying to reshape the data with some conditions. A small part of the data looks like below. Like this there will be more data with repeating ID. Count id name type 117 335 sally A 19 335 sally A 167 335 sally B 18 340 susan A 56 340 susan A 22 340 susan B 53 340 susan B 135 351 lee A 114 351 lee A 84 351 lee A 80 351 lee A 19 351 lee A 8 351 lee A 21 351 lee A 88 351 lee B 111 351

[LLVMdev] LLVM assembly without basic block
Hello, guys. I just wonder if there is any way to spit out LLVM assembly without any basic block division. E.g., If I emit LLVM assembly for the following simple code: ------------------------------------------------------------ void f_loop(long* c, long sz) { long i; for (i = 0; i < sz; i++) { long offset = i * sz; long* out = c + offset; out[i] = 0; } }

how to make sip uri work
Lets say I have an * at my business, with 7960 SIP phones. All the sip phones are registered using their extension number (like 305), but I would also like to put my SIP URI on my business card and in a name format, not an extension number (like lee.goodman), so that the SIP URI would read lee.goodman@asterisk.company.com. How would I set this up in extensions.conf? I got

[LLVMdev] LLVM assembly without basic block
Thank you for reminding me the notion of the basic block. Of course, I know all the assembly takes the form of BBs and is divided into units of BB. OK. It looks better for me to explain what I wanted to do more clear from the first. Actually, I am working on emitting out an assembly of VM by using LLVM. LLVM assembly looks similar with this VM assembly except BB. The VM assembly does not have the

PopUp messages
Dear all, as you already know, it is possible to send short winpopup messages to Win boxes using the command smbclient -M host. If a Win user wants to reply, it should be possible to use the Windows' WinPopUp GUI to reply, but the message gets lost somewhere. For example: smbclient -M winbox Added interface ip=192.1.1.125 bcast=192.1.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Connected. Type your message,

Selecting Samba Printer Port
I have a strange problem here. I have a network of Windows NT and XP clients that print to printers shared by Samba. When I double click on the printer icon, the queue opens and it says in the title bar, "Initializing", then "Failed to connect, Retrying". I was able to resolve this on Windows NT by created "Samba Printer Port" as a local port. Unfortunatly in
