I have checked the registry on my domain controller at //HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/control/Lsa/restrictanonymous and it is set to '0'. Is there anything I can do

smbclient-2.2.8a cannot connect to samba-3.0.0 server
Hi I have a problem with subject. I have a samba 3.0.1 server to which both windows and linux (using smbclient version 3) users can connect perfectly. But smbclient version 2.2.8a or earlier users cannot connect to this server. smbmount -> Permission denied after upgrade to FC2
Hello all, hopefully someone has run into this before. I was previously running RH9 with Samba 3.0.2a and would normally mount a document folder to a Win2003 server share. Prior to the upgrade, my mount would work fine, but after upgrading to FC2 (Samba 3.0.5) I now receive "Permission denied" when trying to access the succesfully mounted share. In addition, when I try to 'ls

Can't write mount entrysmbmnt failed: 1
I've compiled samba-3.0.28 on embedded linux/uClibc system. I have problem using smbmount. What dose smbmount mean when it says it "Can't write mount entrysmbmnt failed: 1"? I've appended output of smbmount. Any suggestions? # smbmount //192.10.1.106/star /mnt/smb -o debug=10 mount.smbfs started (version 3.0.28) can't determine netmask for 192.10.1.255 WARNING: no

Samba 1.9.x vs 2.0.7 not connecting to MS DOS Server
I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature... The 2.0.7 version no longer wants to connect to a DOS 6.22/DOS LANMAN2.1 (wg1049.exe) server. Version 1.9.18 does work. Both smbclient and (more importantly for our needs) smbmount fail. However, both work fine with win95 boxes. The problem seems specific to the DOS server. I could not find any reference to this issue. Am I perhaps overlooking

SMBCLIENT to Domain-Laden NT SP3
I am trying to list the shares on an NT 4.0 SP3 system. I supply the -L <host> and -U <user> parameter and the password. The password is correct, but I get an error 2242 returned. On a similar machine configured without domains I have no problem. I have built using DES and without DES and have tried the -DBSD44 switch and without it (this is on FreeBSD). Enclosed is the debug

Problem with smbclient->MSDOS Server
Hi All, Here's an interesting one... I need to be able to connect smbclient on a linux machine to a dos based machine, which is running MSCLIENT and the WG1049 patch. I can browse to the machine and see all the files from Network Neighbourhood in Windows, but if I try and go in with: smbclient \\GAUGE1\C, or even just smbclient -L GAUGE1 all I get is: Added interface ip=10.0.1.1

Access denied/WERR_ACCESS_DENIED on Printer Properties/rpcclient
hello to everyone, I'm experiencing an annyoing problem with a shared printer (managed by samba 3.0.20b-3.4 on Linux - SuSe). The problem is that I cannot modify any of the printer settings (e.g. Location, etc. and of course the driver to use). I've successfully uploaded the correct driver with the APW in the print$ share. The printer data/settings can't be modified by rpcclient too.

smbclient queue command issue
Help or suggestions please: When using smbclient to handle printing from a AIX system to a windows print queue somethings work and others do not. I have been able to print without issues to the windows print queue. But I cannot get a listing of the print jobs in a print queue. This is important so the UNIX users can take action on thier print jobs. I'm not sure which why to turn at this

smpassswd unable to join domain.
Hello, I have been trying for 3 days now to get smbpasswd to join my existing NT 4.0 domain, without success. The command I run is "smbpasswd -j CCH -r chrivdc01 -U knoxth" (yes, userid knoxth has Administrative access). No luck. I've included the output of adding -D 3 to the options line. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?? Thanks! Tom ----- Forwarded by Thomas

Samba 3.0.25c and Samba 3.0.26a on AIX 5.3 - Windows Service Accounts & smbclient issues...
Just the beginning of a question to anyone who might have experienced the following issue with Samba 3.0.2[5-6] series. We currently have service accounts accessing Samba shares on AIX 5.3 servers ( from TL04 - TL06 ). Most of the processes access the shares via UNC rather than mapped drives. After completing the upgrade to Samba 3.0.26a on the production side, the service accounts started

smbclient with Kerberos works, smbclient with NTLM does not?
Hello, I am investigating some strange authentication problems with our network. I am attempting to access a share on a DC with smbclient. If I authenticate with kerberos (kinit, then smbclient -k) then everything works fine. If, instead I use -U administrator -W DOMAIN, or just -U administrator, I get session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE This is samba 3.3.2. Here is the d5 output
