winbindd + smbd errors trying to run in proxy only mode
Hi,
I am trying to set up squid to authenticate using the ntlm module. In
order to do this I am trying to get winbindd to run in proxy only mode.
I am running Samba 2.0.23c. I have no references to idmap or winbind in
my smb.conf. I was of the impression this should cause winbindd to start
in proxy only mode.
Starting winbindd results in:

Samba, AIX and Winbind
Hi,
I'm having some problems in the following situation:
- a SLES9 PDC (Samba/OpenLDAP)
- a IBM NAS500 Gateway, supposed to be a storage with SMB features,
but Samba is far better than that
I've got Samba 3.0.23 working, and i can see my LDAP users/groups
(through aix native ldap client -- i mean, the "id" command returns
every user found in the base).
However, i'm not

The problem on joining a computer running FreeBSD(v5.4) to a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain using samba3.
Hi,
I encountered a problem when I joined a FreeBSD machine to a windows =
2003 AD domain.
I passed following steps successfully:
1.#net ads join =A8CUAdministrator =20
2.#wbinfo =A8Cu
3.#wbinfo =A8Cg
But when I check:
#id Domain\\username (I can find this username using command =
=A1=B0wbinfo =A8Cu=A1=B1)
Id Domain\\username: no such user
=20
I found:
After restarting samba, there

Share Connection Failure
I'm at my wit's end on this, and I hope someone can help.
I'm running SUSE Pro 9.3 with Samba 3.0.13, and I can't get connected to my
shares properly. Valid users (e.g., for [accounts]) is set to %G, and I've
confirmed that the users are members of the owning groups for the shares
and that they are in the passwd and smbpasswd files with the same passwords
as on the Win2k

Samba 3.0.2x with trusted domains.
Hello all,
we have a samba server on a SLES9 linux box. It is connected to an active
directory with multiple trusted domains.
With this server, we have strange problems with users/groups in others
domains. The users/groups listed in smb.conf that are part of trusted
domains are not take in account to access the shares. We cannot as well
set ACL correctly on filesystem.

I setup Samba a while ago in an active directory environment.
There are many trusted domains (with a very lot lot of users and computer
account), but i (my users) used only one, and all worked just fine
Actually, some from others domains needs to connect to my shares. And even
if i do not setupe any users, they cannot.
So here are some few questions :
I've this in my winbindd log file :
