Need advice on Linux/Samba as PDC
I've just upgraded my Linux (RedHat v7.2 + v2.4.17 kernel) box to Samba
v2.2.3a. Now I'm ready to set up winbindd so that this box may act as a
PDC.
First, a little background. I have previously been using Samba 2.2.2 as a
master workgroup server for Linux and Win98 clients. Now I want to add
support for use as a PDC with Win2K clients.
I've set up my /etc/nsswitch.conf per the

Giving up on authentication to trusted domain
I've pretty much decided that this doesn't work, but I'd like to
take this last opportunity to find out if ANYONE has a working
configuration like mine:

Winbind. The Samba server is in the PHS-SC domain, and can be
browsed from "My Network Places".

trouble with accentuated characters in \title tag in Rd file
Dear R-devel-list,
Since I had no answer on the R-help-list
(http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.general/284539) I try to
present my trouble on the R-devel-list. I am sure in the past (one year
ago) to succeed in putting accentuated characters in the \title tag in a
.Rd file. Recently, creating a package, I have NA in the title function
instead of the text containing the

smbclient & printing on win2k box with HP Deskjet 560C (Drivers?) SMB 2.2.3a - Kernel 2.4.7, red hat 7.2
Hi LUs,
I dont have much time at the moment to read tons of documentation. So, I
would like to ask a hopefully easy to answer question.
Samba is running alright with me, smbclient works fine, but I would like to
print from my Linux box over LAN to a printer (HP 560C) connected to a win2k
box. Because I can't afford a better or second printer & I also havent got
enough room for it

I''m trying to write a rails application serves by mongrel and using
accentuated characters in the .rhtml page. But Mongrel replace them by ''?'' .
It works fine for static pages by defining the charset to iso-8859-1 in the
mongrel_mime.yml
But how to change the default encoding (seems to be UTF-8) for the dynamic
pages ?
thanks for your help.

Serialized form... problems with accents
Hi,
I''m working on a french website and I use the Form.serialize method to
send the info through AJAX. The thing is that the accentuated letters
(é,ê,à, etc.) don''t get replaced by their HTML entities and they get
corrupted when retrieving the data. How could I fix that?
thanks a lot,

RC1 still broken with Cisco 7960?
After downloading the latest CVS head and testing it with the Cisco 7960
(SIP v7.2), it appears that it's still necessary to patch rtp.c to avoid
audio dropouts.
I'm quite sure my gateway provider is running an older version of
Asterisk, and I suppose that this may be the root cause. But I mention
the issue here because it seems like it would be a mistake to ship

UTF-8 String.strip bug (and several over methods)
Hello, with Rails 3.0.3
"Café Noir ".strip => "Café noir"
but
"Café ".strip => "Caf\303\251"
In fact, strip() doesn''t works if the last printable character is
accentuated.
Surprisingly " écologie".strip works fine.
I''ve tried to dig deeper in active_support multibyte source code but
didn''t found any solution.

I have a problem with an Rd file containing French accentuated

When I compile the package manual, I have LaTeX errors:
