RE : S3+CUPS+PDF pseudo printer : print command not functional on service
Thanks for your answer. So for my PDF printer, I switched back to BSD printing (calling cups-lpd), and keeped the local (to PDF printer) print command definition. It works now. I still had to add to cups (which automatically generates the /etc/printcap file) a fake printer with the name of the pdf printer (to avoid the loss of the manual addendum to /etc/printcap for the pdf printer). sid->username conversion on beta2 as a domain member in a samba domain?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We run a samba-2.2.x+LDAP domain, and I have been experimenting with samba3 as a member server on one of our production servers (when it has no open connections). I also have samba-2.2.x on it, which works fine. However, beta2 seems to not resolve sids to usernames, so the security tab in the file properties dialog from a windows box shows the sid,

I hope to get these up on the samba ftp servers soon, but if you desperatly need packages, grab them from the

Samba-2.2.5pre1 - all binaries require libldap with --with-ldapsam
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, While preparing packaging of te upcoming samba-2.2.5, we are looking at having samba packages with and without ldap enabled, however, we would like to try and minimize the duplication. But, it seems that most (all?) binaries resulting from a --with-ldapsam build en up linking to libldap. Are there really good reasons for nmblookup, smbcacls,

Password changes seem to be working correctly, adding unix password hashes to the LDAP server (via pam password change = yes and using pam_ldap). However, I would like to try and get

Should User Manager for Domains work as non-root Domain Admin?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a test network that I have been running samba3 on for a while (currently 3.0.1pre3) as a Domain Controller on LDAP backend, and I was under the impression that the User Manager for Domains (from the tools for NT4) should work as a non-root Domain Admin, but it doesn't. I seem to have a correct setup, members of my Domain Admin group can
