Continued: Join domain OK, but domain not found after reboot
Hi, all: To recap: I can successfully get my WinXP box to join the domain (WHITEROCK), but after rebooting, when I try to log on: "The system cannot log you on now because the domain WHITEROCK is not available." I get this even when using the user 'root' - and this user was the one to successfully join the domain WHITEROCK!! To rule out any stale junk, my WinXP is a

Does 3.0 work with w2k sp3 and/or win 2003? Anybody had success?
I can't make it work although both sign&seal and restrictanonymous are set to 0. My setup is: w2k sp2 as PDC, w2k sp3 as client, samba 3.0a21 joined into the PDC domain as an ADS member. The scenario is, from the w2k sp3 client, connect to a share hosted by samba, create a file, then use property->security->add tab to add an ACE, then the browsing user/group windows appears

"Idmap uid range missing" - 3.0.0beta2-1 on Debian Sarge

I've gone to a Samba HowTo troubleshooting guide: http://hr.uoregon.edu/davidrl/samba/samba-diagnose.html and gotten successfully through test #4 (NetBIOS Name Resolution) but can't get anything on

smbclient - session setup failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
I have been using Samba for years and am at my wits end with this problem. I have 3.0.0beta1-1 installed (actually, it's the latest Debian unstable package). I just upgraded it - it was working fine yesterday. I have rejoined my machine to the domain (did this by creating the account using NT4's Server Manager to add it and then net rpc join CCSU -U dnewcomb%password -W CCSU (The

Latest debian (testing) version crashed strangely
Hi there, First post to this list - apologies if there's a more appropriate place for discussion of debian specific builds, but this looks like a generic-enough bug. Samba "smbd version 3.0.0beta2-1 for Debian" running on 2.4.21 linux kernel on Athlon machine. WinXpPro client machine opening a mapped drive from samba share in a "Add attachment" dialog in Mozilla 1.4.

samba and idmap_rid panic
Sigh, Someday i will get samba to work on aix. Now I rebuild samba because I discovered that you needed to request it to build idmap_rid.so or it will not make it. After the rebuild I moved over the smb.conf again and net ads joined again. When I try to start samba, however, it panics with this information: smb_register_idmap: Successfully added idmap backend 'tdb' [2006/02/07

Trouble installing package in development version of R
Dear R-devel, I'm trying to get practice learning more about the internals of R so am experimenting with the development version. I successfully cloned the SVN repo and built and installed R. I am using 2014-01-23 r64861. However, I cannot seem to install the lattice package. I tried within R using install.packages and got the error sh: 1: 1: not found I then downloaded the tar.gz and tried

PANIC: Could not fetch our SID - did we join?
Hi, I have some problems running Samba and Winbind 3.0.22 in a AD, kerberos environment. I have seen previous posts on several forums about this problem but haven't found any solution for it yet. I have no problem with the default Samba package that comes with Ubuntu, 3.0.14a. But I do wan't to upgrade and the only option in that case seems to be to compile it. I compiled it with

3.0.21c: idmap_rid segfaults on AIX 5.3 ML4
Hi everyone, I'm trying to use idmap_rid on an AIX 5.3 ML4 machine. Samba compiled successfully using the IBM compiler (vac.C) version 6. The only programs I supplied where db and libiconv. I followed the instructions, and put nsswitch/WINBIND in /usr/lib/security, and edited /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg. When I start "winbindd -i", it coredumps with a Signal 11: (dbx) where

Unicode troubles
Hi, I've tried to follow all helpful tips I've found in the mailing-list and I've applied these two utf-8 patches; http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/2324 http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/1927 Now the QueryParser works as I wants it to do, and creates the terms correctly. But sadly I can't find any documents. If I do this; $ quest

Output from while and for loop
Hello, I am new and am having a hard time getting the proper syntax for output from loops. I am working on a simulation to generate a null expectation of bee behavior. Pieces of it work. The part that I am having specific difficulty is in output of a vector from within the while loop that I am using. Basically the simulation works as such: I have a starting point and a neighbor matrix and a

Proxy arp and pptp
Hi all! I''ve set up a Linux box with shorewall doing proxy arp as per http://www.shorewall.net/shorewall_setup_guide.htm#ProxyARP the 5.2 (non routed) example. Everything is working great except for one thing, and that leads me to my question: is there a conflict between proxy arp and pptp? I''ve set the apropriate ACCEPT rules to allow tcp port 1723 and protocol 47 to the host

identifying local maxima
Dear R users, I have created a Loess surface in R, in which x is relative longitude by miles, y is relative latitude by miles, and z is population density at the neighborhood level. The purpose is to identify some population centers in the region. I'm wondering if there is a way to determine the coordinates (x,y) of each center, so I can know exactly where they are. Let me use the

I am sorry if this question is vague or uninformed. I am just learning R and struggling. I am using the book Hierarchical Modeling and Inference in Ecology and they provide examples of R code. I have the following code from the book but when I run it I don't get any output. I cannot get the values of 'out' to show up. Basically, I just want to see my estimates for b0,

Can't find all levels of categorical predictors in output of zeroinfl()
Hello, I?m using zero-inflated Poisson regression via the zeroinfl() function to analyze data on seed-set of plants, but for some reason, I don?t seem to be getting the output for all three levels of my two categorical predictors. More about my data and model: My response variable is the number of viable seeds (AVInt), and my two categorical predictors are elevation (Elev) and Treatment
