MGE Pulsar STS
Hello,
I'm trying to communicate with a MGE Pulsar STS 16 using nut
under Linux, but I've had no luck so far. I haven't saw it
supported in the doc, so if there's anything I can try...
Thanks,
Arnaud.

Cox Proportional Hazard with missing covariate data
Dear friends,
I have used R for some time now and have a tricky question about the coxph-function: To sum it up, I am not sure whether I can use coxph in conjunction with missing covariate data in a model with time-variant covariates. The point is: I know how "old" every piece that I oberserve is, but do not have fully historical information about the corresponding covariates. Maybe you

Wine Delphi 5 Pro Usage Glitches
Hi,
With help of AppDB howto and tips from wine community
I managed to install Delphi 5 on KUbuntu 8.0.4.1 Wine 1.1.3.
I can use it fairly flawlessly with some features missing.
I compiled Application on this installation and launched
in production also almost week ago and have not received any
complaints till date. I have noticed some minor glitches
which are hampering productivity a little bit.

AFT-model with time-varying covariates and left-truncation
Dear Prof. Brostr?m,
Dear R-mailinglist,
first of all thanks a lot for your great effort to incorporate
time-varying covariates into aftreg. It works like a charm so far
and I'll update you with detailled benchmarks as soon as I have them.
I have one more questions regarding Accelerated Failure Time models
(with aftreg):
You mention that left truncation in combination with time-varying

SSHD Feature Request
With the increased number of "brute force" login attempts against port 22, I am concerned that an intruder may actually stumble accross a valid user/pass combination. To combat this, I would like to request an sshd_config option that would cause the running sshd parent process to keep track of login failures by IP address. If there are more than X number of login failures for a

Should I worry about it or ignore this message ?

Silly questions due to ingrained knowledge of analog phone use.
Greetings all!
I've got some really silly questions. I'm a technical guy, and I understand
how the astrisk server works and how VOIP works, etc... The problem I have is
that at my small company we have a phone system with analog lines and
everyone here is comfortable with the concept of using them. I've never seen
IP phones in action so I don't know how they work from a users

use or non-use of multiple processors in forwarding
I''m testing to see how fast A can ping C without losing packets.
A -- B -- C
B is a dual processor (Intel(R) XEON(TM) CPU 1.80GHz) machine.
/proc/stat shows me that all of the work is done by one cpu, the other
does nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas of why this should be the case and what
I can do to change it? I''m hoping I can get higher throughput if

How to tell if asterisk is handling media or not?
I'm trying to get my asterisk server to reinvite. I have two asterisk
servers with public IP's. My users (behind NAT) register on one server
(I'll call it server 1), and for some calls they are transfered over
to the other server (server 2), because that server has the E1's.
I want server 1 to be in the signaling path for billing reasons, but
handling the media stream is killing

The site describing how to set up IIS on Windows 2003 for Rails appears

Does anyone know anywhere else where this information can be found?

PAM/winbindd/smb_pass/pam_smb_auth/smb_ntdom to authenticate SSH
Hello,
I'm currently running winbind (from Samba 2.2.3a) so that our
Windows users can ssh into our Linux box. I've set up Samba,
PAM and winbind, and it's working well. Users can see their
files, and they can log in using their windows usernames. No
problem.
When users access their Samba share, they don't need
to reauthenticate, because they've already done so with

Authenticate Linux Session with NT Domain Acct.
Despite configuring winbind and my /etc/pam.d/<files>, I am still unable
to actually log into a Linux session (ie, at the gdm login screen or
text login prompt) using my NT domain account. Here is my
/etc/pam.d/login file:
auth required /lib/security/pam_securetty.so
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so

How to get variable names in a function?
Hello,
applying a function to a list of variables I face the following problem:
Let's say I want to compute tables for several variables. I could write a
command for every single table, like
bravo<-c(1,1,2,3,5,5,5,);charly<-c(7,7,4,4,2,1)
table(bravo); table(charly)
> table(bravo); table(charly)
bravo
1 2 3 5
2 1 1 3
charly
1 2 4 7
1 1 2 2
The results are two tables with the

Question about Open SSH Public Keys
Hi People
I am setting up some systems with ssh public keys and as part of this I
am using the from directive inside .ssh/authorized_keys. Currently I am
using the IP address to control the source. eg from="10.0.0.1" but on
one CentOS 4 System that is up to date this will only work if I replace
the IP with the DNS name of the server. I have verified that DNS is
resolving the DNS

roaming profile does not work for "Domain Admins"
I am facing an issue which I cannot explain myself. The roaming profiles don't work for users that are members of the group "Domain Admins". The [profiles] share on the member server was configured exactly as explained on the wiki for roaming profiles. It works like a charm for all domain users, *BUT*: if a user is member of the group "Domain Admins" it *doesn't* :-(

I see GPOs applied, but network drives sometimes mapped, sometimes not.
Found something around hardened UNC paths, applied some GPO, dunno if
that is necessary or helps (I still have to check where to apply that
GPO, computer or user ...).
While debugging that I find in log.smbd on the member server:

Which VoIP router and switch to use for medium size business
Hi everybody,
What is a proper setup for a medium size business with about 20 IP phones
and 20 computers. Right now they are using a regular Linksys router which we
use at homes. Their switch is also a very standard switch. Now they need to
put there something better and VoIP compatible.
What people use out there in serious and professional VoIP installations for
medium size businesses? Is there
