Can't add machine account to domain
I am running samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0 on RedHat 9.0. The domain I am trying to join has a different name than the workgroup I am trying to leave. Prob configuring Samba / Ldap an PDC
Hy all I installed samba with ldapsam-backand acting as an Windows Server but i was not able to windiws 2k Workstations joining the Domain. I added the Computername with an $ apended to the ldap-passworddir, i let run smbpasswd -m -a elli, but i cannot add the Computer to the Domain. samba not working with ldap
hello list, I'm trying to configure my samba server to work with ldap , but it seems that samba cannot understand the ldap options in the configuration file , when I run testparm, I am sur that I installed samba -with-ldapsam option , and I can find these options in the man page of smb.conf , so I wamder what can the problem be , any suggestions please

forcing one logon per user
i am having a real problem with users exchanging passwords on the network and then logging on as that user while the original user is on the network. in adition to making some changes to the password system i would like to force the system to disallow multiple logons..can't find it anywhere in the documentation, but i am almost sure that it must be possible. most of the clients are win98

Samba 3.2.15 is working with Winows 7 !!!
Hello to all, After a lot of trying this is the solution for all with samba 3.2.15 installed. My Windows 7 client machine joins the domain on the fly with this registry hack. problem adding PC to domain
I am running Red Hat 9 and Samba 3.0.4. I have a Win2K PC. I have made the registry change regarding requiresignorseal and signsecurechannel. When I try to join the domain it pops up the username and password. I put in root and it's password (which I have added/enabled with Swat). However I get the following results. XP Failure to Join Domain
I?m using SAMBA 3.0.4-6.3E as a PDC. I have Win98, WinNT4 and Win2000 clients successfully joined to the domain. But I can?t get an XP box to join. The XP machine can ?see? shares on the SAMBA PDC but strangely does not show up in network neighbourhood. You can find it if you search for it. XP join and logon
Hi My plan is joining XP Pro client to authenticate via Samba 3.0 domain or workgroup. The problem is the XP client at first login interface didnt show logon location like to "This Computer" and "AJK-ITS" workgroup, so it cannot authenticate to Samba Server. [samba-users] Network Pblm with "misty" (XP Home SP3 )
In short this is the problem. The XP Home machine called "misty" cannot see any other machines. It cannot see the Linux machines and it cannot see the XP Home machines or the XP Pro machine.
