Can't add machine account to domain
I am running samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0 on RedHat 9.0. The domain I am trying
to join has a different name than the workgroup I am trying to leave.
Below is a copy of the last two entries of the computer_name.log, which
are created when I try to add the machine account.

Add Machine Failed
I know I am getting tiresome to this list, but I can't see what I am doing
wrong, which is obviously something. I am new to samba as far as setting
it up as a PDC. I am not having trouble accessing sanba shares when I set
my computer to be part of a workgroup, but when I try to configure samba
server as a PDC, i get the following message:

pam+winbind and maintaining domain membership: keytab vs tickets
Hello. I am trying to clarify in my mind how winbind, pam and kerberos all
work. I am hoping to get some knowledge to help debug and ensure our samba
server keeps it's domain membership in the most robust way possible.
Background: We are using a samba server to serve a filesystem to windows
users. A group policy on the machines will automatically mount the
filesystem. Samba and all the

About wget
I've been downloading a software for a friend with wget, but as my
connexion to internet is not so good, wget downloaded in three parts by
example:
SetupDxLabelMakerSoftonic.exe
SetupDxLabelMakerSoftonic.exe.1
SetupDxLabelMakerSoftonic.exe.1.1
My question is: Is there any way to join all of this or Do I have to
download that again?
Hope an answer
thanks to all

I need that each subnet see all the workgroups in the Network Neighborhood.

Failed to join domain: failed to find DC for domain...
Getting this error when trying to join computer to the domain. I just
built a new debian computer for gaming and photo and video editing. I went
through the same process as I did before (I created a script to do all of
the things I did in the past)
net ads join -U administrator
Password for [HOME\administrator]:

CTDB Question w/ Winbind
Martin,
Here you go,
# echo "mypassword" | net --no-dns-updates -U service-account-name ads
testjoin domain.local
kerberos_kinit_password NETBIOS_NAME$@DOMAIN.LOCAL failed: Client not found
in Kerberos database
Join to domain is not valid: The name provided is not a properly formed
account name.

Yes, this will likely break virt-p2v.

The default for ssh is to use TCP keepalives. However those are very
infrequent (once every 2 hours IIRC), so it won't

smbclient -L shows only a part of the shares
Hi,
I am using Samba 3.0.1 under Debian Unstable (Kernel 2.4.22). (But also
tried this with 2.2.8 with the same results)
I use the command "smbclient -L netbios_name -Uname%pw" to list the
shares of one of the servers of an ADS Domain.
Unfortunately only about 30% of the shares of this particular server
appear in the list.
In windows all shares are visible. I used the same account in

There where some people that posted here with the same Problem.
I have never done this. So everything from here is just "having an
educated guess".
If you look at the link I posted, there is a smb.conf given. I would
take that as
