Hi: I have written to this list once before regarding the same problem. (ref smbmount problem on 03/28/2005) Paul Gienger sugested asking the "kernel boys" as they maintain smbmount. Hello. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to mount a share from a NT4.0 (US_english) machine using samba-2.2.8a. When I mount the share using samba, somehow the '?' and '?' characters are displayed as 'o' and 'a'. (other western chars such as ?,?,?,?,etc are ok, I have problems only with '?' and '?'). I am trying to access a share on a samba server using charset iso8859-1 from a client using the same charset via CIFS. "smbmount" has separate options for the server/client charset, using "codepage=cp850,iocharset=iso8859-1" gets the correct behavior in my case. Unfortunately, the parameter for specifying the server codepage doesn't seem to exist in "mount.cifs"

Hello, I've a problem with Samba version 2.0.6, where smbd does not start from inetd. nmbd starts from inetd and "smbd -D" works fine as well. And I didn't have that problem with 2.0.4b. The following is an extraction of the smb.log, which shows an "read_socket_data: recv failure for 4. Error = Invalid argument" error. Regarding this problem, what is the difference
