Microsoft Active Directory Connectivity
We are looking into implementing Samba as a Domain Structure within the
authority, but we may have to have a Microsoft Active Directory
structure in place as well. We will keep away from it as long as we can
but may end up having to put it in. I want to gather information before
this happens.
Can you please direct me to any information you have about Microsoft

SIPAddHeader from a realtime databse
Hi Guys
I'm using asterisk 1.8.23.1
When I add a SIP Header from inside the extensions.conf
(SIPAddHeader(Alert-Info:<http://www.notused.com>\;info=alert-internal\;x-line-id=0)
) it works fine.
When I try to do the same thing from within a database table, all of the
string apart from x-line-id=0 gets ignored. I've tried escaping the
semicolon and not escaping it and the result is

AGI Script to interact with ACCESS Databse and Set CID info on the fly.
Well guys here comes the fun part. I have a Microsoft access (VBA)
application that interfaces with my SQL database. This app pulls of info
from the SQL record and than picks up the phone and dials that locations
number. I have purchased a few hundred NpaNxx's for my own use. I want get

AGI Script to interact with ACCESS Databse a nd Set CID info on the fly.
lol just posted this yesterday, it's for any ODBC DSN so Access or SQL or an
Excel spreadsheet, as long as it's set as a DSN. This will work with
outgoing Caller ID as well, it's just how you set it up in your dialplan. If
you want I can email you the .agi since email will undoubtedly mangle the
script. hth.

Nodes and defaults question
Hi there,
If I have a manifest with, say:
node default { ..stuff.. }
node mymachine { ..stuff.. }
What would happen on mymachine: will the stuff in default be executed
*as well as* the stuff in default, or only the stuff in mymachine?
And, if the latter, should I move global stuff just to global scope
outside of nodes?
Thanks

The user type: restrict login
Hi there,
If I create a user, there seems to be no way to restrict it from being
able to log in. Is there a simple way in which I can extend it to do
that, or will I have to build my own define?
It would also be useful to specify the user''s ssh keys and authorized
keys, for example.
I am also wondering how much effort it would be to add another provider
for user (such as

Managing apache authentication
Hi there.
I''m trying to wrap my head around puppet and its parlance and need some
guidance...
2 Questions:
1) I have done some puppet stuff on a new server and would like to hear
whether I have done things "the right way"
2) I want to build on top of that and am not sure how...

Dealing with sensitive files?
Hi there,
What do you people do when distributing files that only root should have
read access to?
What we''ve done is to put them in /etc/puppet/files (which is configured
to be a location served by puppet''s file server). Then we let puppet own
everything underneath /etc/puppet/files, and make those sensitive files
readable only by the puppet user.
In Ubuntu (which we use),

nlminb function
Hello,
I've got a program written in S-plus which I think is converted successfully to R with the exception of part of the opt.param function written.
In S-plus it is:
nlminb(start=x0, obj=negllgamma.f, scale=1, lower=c(0.01,0.0001),
upper=c(10,0.9999), gamma=gamma, maxlik=maxlik,
y=ldose, s=lse, max.iter = 1000, max.fcal = 1000)$par
and so far with R I've got to:

Custom controller for scaffold generator
Hi,
i put my customized controller in
lib/templates/scaffold_controller/controller.rb
for using in scaffold generation.
The problem is that the original controller template is used!
Where do i put my custom controller template? Or maybe is this a bug?
I''m using Rails v. 3.0.7 (Ruby 1.9.2p180)
Thanks in advance,
ciao

Searching for a gem to manage related records
Hi!
Is there a gem to easily manage related (belongs_to) records (view and
controller)? To easily allow the user to select (if already exist) or
add/create a new related record without write lines of code?
Thanks!
