Interfaces basic question
I have a router with only one physical ethernet cable. I know it''s stupid, but it is the network I have to use for a demo. I have in mind to construct an HTB class tree for some network limitations for the outgoing traffic. The question is: can i use the HTB class mechanism on 2 subinterfaces of the same physical network card without any interference? Please let me know as soon as

[Bridge] Transparently bridge Vlans to eth0
Hi, I'm using Vlans in my network as a way of preventing pier to pier communication - I only want nodes in the network to talk to the gateway (a linux box). I have successfully set up lots of sub interfaces using the vconfig too, one for each vlan. What I would like to be able to do is remove the ip address from each of these subinterfaces eth0.x and bridge them to eth0. I have successfully

Multiple Domains/Winbinds, ntlm_auth/wbinfo issue
Ok I'm at a loss, I have 2 instances on winbindd / smbdd / nmbdd running (basically copied to install from samba-multiple-domains.blogspot .com but with my domains and ip's) But the issue I have is that even though both domains joined, and I can see all the winbinds and smbs running, and no errors in the logs, it appears that wbinfo / ntlm_auth only work with one of the units, no matter

Distinguish between voice and data call
Hi I have an Asterisk installation with some SIP and MGPC devices, and I also have a TE410P on a E1 line. If I make an outside ISDN data call to asterisk the phone rings as usual and if I answer it, I just hear some clicks. I've read that the D-Channel has information about the call, if its voice or data. Is it somehow possible to end/ignore this call already before it is ringing?

C8 - KVM on bridge on VLAN on team issues.
As part of my initial KVM host on C8 deployment, I decided to set up some HA features on the new host, specifically NIC teaming. Teaming seems to be bond++ of a sort, so I thought I would at least try it.? So here's the scenario: 1.) Server with two gigabit ethernet ports, two Cisco switches. 2.) During install, used the 'Server with GUI' group and added the virtualization

Max number of Network Aliases?
I know that there is a 3 network interface max for Xen 3.*. But is there a max number of network aliases? Since they are all on the same subnet then really it should just bridging the traffic. Correct? Does anyone have a PV DomU that has more than 3 IP addresses being used inside it? Thanks, Ryan _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

I Have Multiple Ips But Can Only Telnet to One Interface. Not the subinterface. How to Fix?
Hi guys, I have multiple IPs bound to my Centos 6.6 box but I can only telnet to one IP. Any ideas on what to do? I've searched the internet so far with every keyword I can think of to no avail. I can see that postfix is only listening on the first IP and to localhost. The IP I cannot smtp to is on ETH0:1. I can access it via port 80 (web traffic) but the connection is refused if i try to

UID and GID mapping throw DC and Member DC
What do you mean with different winbinds? I can destroy the member server, its on testing. It is for the version of windbind? I can get this from DC. But I can not do the same with DC. trying to authenticate postfix against Dovecot 2.3.4.1 passwd-file, using lmtp
Sorry for all the notes; I'm trying to have postfix 3.4.8, trying to authenticate postfix against Dovecot 2.3.4.1 passwd-file, using lmtp. Not sure if I'm failing because of a smtp failure or I'm not getting authenticated by dovecot. main.cf virtual_transport=lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp _*postfix log*_ connect from unknown[192.168.212.227] Apr 28 13:42:14 mail3

UID and GID mapping throw DC and Member DC
After tried to solve the problem with "getent", I found another problem with the Member server. The member server works well, but the "uid" and "gid" mapping for users its incorrect. In the DC the "UID" "GID" its around 3000085 In the Member Server its around 2000 - 3000 For example: ADDC Server. --------------------- root at ACDC:/# wbinfo

RFC2307 attributes not being read by DC2 in 4.2.1
>> server services = s3fs, rpc, nbt, wrepl, ldap, cldap, kdc, >> drepl, winbindd, ntp_signd, kcc, dnsupdate Since "winbindd" is included in this line, shouldn't also "-winbind" be there? I think that when you use the normal winbind you must disable the internal one. Could the simultaneous use of both winbinds be the cause of the confusion?

Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied.
Dear colleagues and samba-experts, I installed a samba-file-server as a samba domain-member using debian jessie-packages, following the samba-manual "Setting up Samba as a Domain Member". I can access the shares and create files but there are issues concerning security. As proposed I am using RSAT (on a german Windows 10 Pro, logged in as Domain Administrator) to set details
