KDE-Print almost working, directory shares working good.
Hi all, I've been reading quite a few of the posts to this mailing list, and I'm afraid that my question is going to look very noobish, but as I am one, that's to be expected, so apologies in advance for my post getting caught up in more serious samba queries. I have two PCs, one a workstation (biggeek.supermail.dyndns.org, 192.168.1.100), and the other a general server machine

Printing to samba server doesn't work
Well, not like it should. I can capture a printer with the "net use lpt1:" command, but I would really like to be able to print to any one of the three printers in my printcap. NT gives me the error: "The parameter is incorrect". I attached the error message screen below, in .png format. This worked for the last printer I had. All I changed was the printer and the

Printer Queue control
I am setting up samba as a print server on a FreeBSD machine. I would like the users to be able to control the print queue by using the Pause option in Windows NT. It seems that I have a permission problem doing this though. -- Portion of smb.conf -- [global] lpq command = /usr/bin/lpq -P%p lprm command = /usr/bin/lprm -P%p %j queuepause command =

INSTALLATION: I have 3 PCs. - One is a windows 2000 PC with the printer connected to it - One is a redhat machine - One is a Suse 9.0 machine. Problems with printers
I'm having a couple of problems getting samba to process /etc/printcap properly. The printer definition lines of my /etc/printcap are: epson|lp|uniprint-letter-auto-mono|Epson Stylus Color 800 (mono, 360x360):\ color|epson_color|lp1|uniprint-letter-auto-mono|Epson Stylus Color 800 (color, 360x360):\ med|epson_med|lp2|uniprint_stc800p-letter-auto-mono|Epson Stylus Color 800 (mono, 720x720):\

RE: nuevos requisitos

Lo que necesito que acceda ahora es al samba, http y svn, lo dem?s planeo darle un futuro uso. 3) En

(In)(x)sane privilege/access issue
I just picked up a new HP OfficeJet J3680 all-in-one (because, as previously posted, my 4315 broke), and I was able to install the printer using the latest hplip's hp-setup command, BUT: My sane: libsane-hpaio.x86_64 1.6.7-4.1.el5.4 installed sane-backends.x86_64 1.0.18-5.el5 installed sane-backends-devel.i386

Scanner missing again
A while back I posted about my new HP J3600 scan/fax/copy/print-er and how it was visible to the root but not me as an ordinary user. I had no trouble configuring it as a printer, but the scanner was invisible to xsane until I added my user id to the lp group. Now it's gone again, except that it is visible as a usb device to me as a normal user, but xsane can't seem to find it any more.

Multiple TCP/IP printers and smb
I am having trouble setting up our two HP TCP/IP printers under samba. Both of these printers are listed in the /etc/printcap and printing works fine from linux. Bellow is a copy of the /etc/smb.conf file: ; /etc/smb.conf ; ; Make sure and restart the server after making changes to this file, ex: ; /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb stop ; /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start [global]

printers: access denied -- but why?
I am running 2.2.3a-12.3 on Debian stable with Win2k machine and an XP machine on a small home network. I have only just started using printer support and seemed to have it fine with a postscript and a "raw" connection for the HP LJ5MP printer (with internal PS) working fine from W2k and WXP. Then I took the server down as I'll need another parallel port in it. Rebooted after

Forward Stepwise regression with stepAIC and step
Dear all, I cannot seem to get the R functions step or stepAIC to perform forward or stepwise regression as I expect. I have enclosed the example data in a dataframe at the end of this mail. Note rubbish is and rnorm(17) variable which I have deliberately added to the data to test the stepwise procedure. I have used wateruse.lm<-lm(waterusage~.,data=wateruse) # Fit full model
