Best way for exchange?
I have been asked to set up a customer with Exchange 2000.
I have tried to convert them, so please don't suggest it.
We have 3 boxes we can use to do this with.
We want to use Samba 3 as the PDC (ldap backend) and Samba 3 as BDC (ldap
backend), with the exchange box as a domain member.
Will this work?
If not, what is the best way to ensure that :
a. We have PDC and BDC for authentication

Hi,
I just installed Xen in Ubuntu Hardy.
DomU is not accessible either from Dom0 or external network.
I used default set up network-bridge/vif-bridge from xend-conf.sxp.
Bridge has got default name eth1 which is my default ethernet interface.
Before creating DomU:

Could you install Exchange on a Samba PDC's network?
Could you install Exchange on a Samba PDC's network?
What would happen if you tried to run /domainprep?
Could Exchange interact with a LDAP backend?
Would this be some sort of NT4/W2K mixed-mode directory services setup?

Samba 3.0.2 & Exchange 2003 / Active Directory?
My dilemma is this. My company is in the midst of doing some moves. Our
network will be merged with another section of the company. They are
completely MS servers, while all my servers are running linux / samba. Our
new CTO told me that the company IS moving to Exchange 2003 (in ~ 6 months),
and said that he is open to use linux for authentication, file servers, print
servers, etc IF I

NT4 SP3 PDC with MS Exchange 5.5 to Samba 3.x ldapbacked PDC and MS Exchange 5.5 still
Looking to make some changes to an old but working LAN, that has about 10
samba servers serving printers and network shares and a NT 4 PDC server with
Exchange 5.5 on it. The samba servers are members of the nt4 domain, XP
systems are members of the nt 4 domain also. Samba servers are ldapbacked.
We use the ldap component directly to login to the Linux servers.
I'd like to be able to

volumes and for some

without any problems until the last Jaguar security update was installed
a few weeks ago or so. Now they are giving the below errors and the
rsync does not happen:

Continuing problem with domain trusts
Setup:
Samba3beta3 domain (NEWDOM) with a single PDC. No winbind activated.
Uses smbpasswd for user authentication.
Windows 2K AD (OLDDOM) domain with two DCs.
I've been struggling to get a trust established one way with these two
domains. Since I have a native W2K AD domain, I have to use AD domain tools
to establish the trusts. I followed the documentation regarding creating a

Inter Domain trusts and BDC
I have a Samba-LDAP PDC at an office and 5 BDC's at other offices. At
corporate HQ I have a W2k Server and domain. I have properly
configured an interdomain trust and Users in the Samba domain can get to
sections on the W2k machine regardless of location. However, members in
the W2K domain can only access shares on the PDC. Attempts to access
shares on a BDC cause a user name

tomorrow to appear)

looking for up-to-date documentation on trusts
The Samba How-To Documentation is very out of date- at least for the
section on Interdomain trusts (Apr 2003, doesn't mention anything beyond
Windows 2000.)

The change notes also stop at that samba 3.0.x series

I was an Exchange admin for years and even had an Exchange server at
home for about 20 years - just for fun and for testing purposes.
Three months ago I migrated to dovecot and baikal -

Math Symbols in plots under Darwin/Panther
I've just committed a new version of the quartz device to R-devel.
This seems to fix the problem with displaying math symbols in plots
under Panther.
I can't not more test R under Jaguar (at least not these days). In case
you have the opportunity to do that, please send me a report if it
brokes everything under Jaguar (or eventually say "it's ok")
