2.2.8a with kernel-2.4.22 has kernel oplock problems (NOT Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler)
I have a samba problem on a redhat 9 box that appears to be clearly linked to a new kernel 2.4.22nptl when using "kernel oplocks = yes". I am trying to install a printer driver on a win98se box that tries loading the driver files from a share on the 2.2.8a server. The installation fails as win98se cannot read all the files as it would like to. I have two things I can do to avoid the

[LLVMdev] [llvm] r210424 - Revert "Do materialize for floating point"
Why are you reverting patches for any area that you have no authorization for ? No build was broken. This patch is fine. I am authorized to check in to the Mips area and Daniel is the maintainer for that area. Migrating from 2.2.8a to 3.0.5 / Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler
I'm running Slackware 9.0 with a vanilla Linux kernel 2.4.25. Due to the announced EOL for 2.2.x, I'm trying to migrate our Samba hosts to version 3.0.5. These Samba hosts serve shares mounted off a seperate NFS fileserver. All is going well, except I've started getting the following messages in the smbd logs: ---- Start of snippet ---- [2004/08/11 09:59:30, 0]

Friendly Reminder (OT)
Today, I had a tragic hard drive crash. I hadn''t updated anything to SVN in two weeks. I''m posting this here as a reminder to my beloved Rails community. Everyone, right now..... make a backup of your rails work. Make sure its on two disks. Many of you already do that automatically, but just make sure its working. Two near-release rails plugins were lost in the tragic crash

Problem with RH 9 and Samba version 2.2.7a-8.9.0
I'm upgrading to a RH 9 box and using the version of Samba that comes with RH 9. I notice this error message in the smbd.log file; [2003/11/21 21:15:19, 0] smbd/oplock_linux.c:linux_init_kernel_oplocks(287) Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler It seems to effect the "domain admin group" parameter. Looking for AOL, MSN, Yahoo "Rails Buddies"
I''m an independent software developer that spends a fair amount of time each day working on Rails-related project. t''d be really great to meet some people to chat about rails, software development, or whatever else geeky stuff via IM! If interested, shoot me an e-mail or reply here. Personally, I''m a little apprehensive about putting all my info out there on a list

is anyone using AAF trunk?
My project is currently using AAF 0.4.3. Trunk has some compelling features, but my project is going live on Monday and I am apprehensive about switching. Is anyone using trunk in a relatively high-volume context? (A low and vague standard for evaluating production suitability, I know, but better than nothing). Thanks, John

Has anyone complied Wine onto a Sparc (Suse 7.1.)?
The actual machine I have is a SPARCStation20. I know I can't d/l the binaries, but I've heard that it's possible to compile the source. I'd like to hear from anyone that's accomplished this feat, with, if possible some pointers on how to do it. I've never yet compiled any source code, (I find it difficult to grasp the ins-and-outs of it ("./configure" this,

DC upgrade questions
Hi folks, Yet another upgrade question! Reading the mailing list regarding upgrades in the past few months has made me a little apprehensive. After now running a single Samba DC for a few months and excising the last remnants of the old Windows DC, I would like to join another Samba DC to the existing one. Current one (DC2) is running Samba 4.5 on Debian Stretch. samba-tool dbcheck looks clean

OH323 with Asterisk@home - seems incomplete
I installed oh323 and everything seemed to go smoothly (compile & everything upto calling through using oh323). I must admit, there is some behavior that's doesn't seem right but generally, I'm able to dial-out of any oh323 device whether to an extension or to a trunk. Audio is sometimes muted when dialing out until the extension or dialed number answers. Sound quality is good

[LLVMdev] issues with InlineAsm class and #APP/#NOAPP
I'm happy to send you my patch as it stands today. It's not cleaned up yet all or tested thoroughtly but you can look at what I'm doing and maybe suggest some alternate paths and if it's not a matter of redoing everything, I would consider making some changes. Here is a sample stub: Consider this line of code: extern float fpff(float); We have no idea if this is a mips16 or
