All, I am running samba v. 1.2 on a FreeBSD machine with XP clients. I cannot make user password changes from the XP machines using ctrl-alt-del > Change Password. I followed some suggestions in the archives and on the net and tried "guest account = smbnull." The result of this change was the exact same error in the smbd log, only instead of 65534 (nobody), the log read 101

I use FreeBSD. Windows Firefox shows Chinese fine. But some simple windows programs just show black boxes instead. Is there a documentation anywhere explaining how to make Chinese fonts work? Yuri

I'm using kubuntu 8.04 and I'm able to run three programs that I installed but another user can't. Is there any way to make .wine available for all users? I thought about copying .wine to wine in /usr/lib/wine or /usr/bin/wine.

Ah i see.. /usr/local/samba/private/dns.keytab Thats the "old" path.. Your using bind9 you should have: /usr/local/samba/bind-dns/dns.keytab dont forget to set the needed rights on bind-dns folder. Hello I tried on two vms on my vmware Workstation to use samba as DC. I want use BIND for dns system. To join the Domain had worked successfully after I recompiled the bind. It seems the zone are the same but Samba isn't in the ns-record. If I run dcpromo.exe I get this error message: This Active Directory DC is the last dns-server for the AD-zones. Hi all, we have two servers A, B as a failover MGS/MDT pair, with IPs A=10.12.112.28 and B=10.12.115.120 over tcp. When server B crashes, MGS and MDT are mounted on A.
