"no such file or directory" error
I have an smb service set up on a box on my home network, and it currently works fine with the mp3 folder I share out accross the lan. However, I recently decided to add a share for my web site so i could make site updates/changes from any other box in the house rather than having to go to the server to make content changes. The relevant bita of my smb.conf file look like this: [mp3] path =

DNAT issue
Hi, Sorry, not an experienced shorewall user, this is my first basic setup. This starts to drive me crazy. I wanted to use DNAT to forward port 33890 to an internal machine (windows) port 3389. To reach my workstation when I''m not home. In my rules : DNAT:debug net loc:192.168.0.11:3389 tcp 33890 - pub.lic.ip.add #SECTION BLACKLIST #well known port scans DROP net

SRR qdisc
Hi all, I wrote new qdisc SRR (Simple Round Robin). This is just another reimplementation of round robin packets distributions. I''m not using SQF/ESFQ source code and algorithms in this scheduler. The main goal of this work is not given multistream download managers give all bandwidth resource. Please testing this: http://mordor.strace.net/sched-srr/ -- /bye

NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL message-- were to look?
Hi folks, I'm trying to access a shared printer on a windows machine. The windows box (call it "Doze") is located behind a router/printserver, and is set up thus: -DOZE connects to the printer via the printserver using the PRTMATE port, and then shares the printer via smb -- workgroup CHASS, server name HIS-FACLAB, printer name his-fac-lex -Router forwards all incoming connections

Help: Adding printer drivers by RPC fails (NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL)
Hi there, I've had a mighty battle to get printing working with Samba in the last two days. Firstly, to get anything working at all (using CUPS), I had to use disable spoolss = yes use client driver = yes Once I finally managed to get the printer (an HP LaserJet Series II) working with locally installed drivers, I turned my interest to getting it to work with either Windows drivers stored

Connection failed with error NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
Hi, I have configured samba as PDC on a Fedora Core 3 system. It works well and allows domain logon as well as I am able to use smbclient program without any problem. Now I am trying to configure a SMB Printer for this setup. The printer is located on a Win98 machine. I am configuring this using http://localhost:631. After configuring it I get a error with the following message. "Unable

SID of member server in Samba domain (smbldap_search_domain_info: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL)
I have a domain with Samba 3 acting as PDC, and using LDAP (passdb backend = ldapsam). I now wanted to add a second Samba 3 machine as a simple file server. I get errors with getdomainsid and getlocalsid, so there is obviously still something wrong with my config. The PDC runs Samba 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze. Sid queries return: # net getdomainsid SID for local machine MY_PDC_HOST is:

User not privileged to join domain.
Hello I'm running the samba-3.0 alpha18 (I know it's alpha) but I think this has something to do with my configuration (see below). When I try to join my domain from a computer that has never been on the domain before it gives an error about unprivileged user. I use root/sauron as the admin users with the correct passwords. ERROR_DNS_UPDATE_FAILED and NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
Okay!!! My member server ip address is 192.168.**.56 (static). When I run your command it is reporting the ip address of 192.168.**.55 (which is my DC02 address.) So, I need to correct this. How do I remove the 'old member server' ip address 192.168.**.55 reference and correct to 192.168.**.56? --- ------------------------- Bob Wooden of Donelson Trophy 615.885.2846 (main)
