Add printer wizard... No server listed...
We have a Samba 3.01 pre3 server that acts as a print server among other
things. When our users go to the add printer wizard in Windows, it
doesn't show our samba server! The only way to add a printer is by
manually entering the path. That's really inconvenient if you don't
know the path. :) Is there some way we can resolve this?
Thanks,

Am I using the wrong list???
A day or two ago I posted information about error messages I was getting
in my logs after installing 2.2.6. No one has replied! Am I using the
wrong list? If you don't mind looking back, please take a look at my
message and provide some input!

Adding Samba Domain SIDs...
Our school district is moving to an LDAP database for mail and domain
authentication. We are seeing some errors in our logs we don't know how
to resolve and need your help. First, let me give a run down of what we
have and what we are using:
RedHat 9.0
Samba 3.02 Pre 1
OpenLdap 2.1.22-3
Smbldaptools v. 0.83

Strange Samba Behavior....
We have a user at one of our remote sites that is not getting an H:
drive. This is a problem that we've normally been able to resolve. In
this instance, when looking at the logs - there are no errors or even no
mention of the user attempting to connect to her home directory. Samba
does record, however, her connection to her apps drive and other
miscellaneous drives. Samba is at

Your message Re: Samba and printer comments (July 5 1999)
Yes unfortunately I do not have much luck recieving help from the SAMBA
mailing list.
After much playing I found something weird that was seemingly causing
incorrect comments. Most printers would recieve the comment - "no
entries" which originally I assumed to be the default comment given by
Win95 when it could not get a proper comment. However I later found
that this is not the case.

Need some help with installing Samba
Hi,
I'd be grateful for some help with installing Samba 3.0.21c on Solaris 8
64-bit:
$ uname -a
SunOS aggrekodev1 5.8 Generic_117000-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

I've read the Installation and Compilation guides at samba.org, the
install chapter of
Using Samba and checked on sunmanagers but have yet to come-up with a
solution...
I seem to have two options for installation

GPLPV 0.9.10 & 0.9.11.pre17/18 Network Issues
Hello,
I have been testing James'' GPLPV drivers and found excellent performance
when using iperf but have been having issues when trying to download a
file from a shared folder on my Windows 2003 Enterprise HVM to any other
system whether it is linux or windows.
Basically my initial iperf tests were showing 937Mbits/sec down and
345Mbits/sec up but when I try to copy a 2GB file

Fedora 12 domU will not boot kernel
Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to get a Fedora 12 domU to boot for the better part
of the afternoon and haven't had success booting any F12 kernel in Xen.
I can get Fedora 11 installed no problem, tried to do a preupgrade but
the when booting the preupgrade kernel through grub (or even from
outside the domU) the domU reboots very quickly and ultimately crashes.
As far as I saw in the

Getting started generating new MIB-to-NUT mapping for unsupported interface
I'm following advice from Arjen de Korte and Charles Lepple (see
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2010-January/005829.html).
I added a full update on the specifics of my situation:

Would appreciate guidance on getting started generating a MIB-to-NUT
mapping (tools, etc):

Xen SAN Questions
Hello Everyone,
I recently had a question that got no responses about GFS+DRBD clusters for Xen VM storage, but after some consideration (and a lot of Googling) I have a couple of new questions.
Basically what we have here are two servers that will each have a RAID-5 array filled up with 5 x 320GB SATA drives, I want to have these as useable file systems on both servers (as they will both be

Case-Cohort Analysis
Hi All,
I am in the middle of doing an analysis of a Case-Cohort design. I had three questions about the analysis:
a) Does any one know of some public code for developing the patient risk sets (indexed by failure time) or is there a better way to organize the data?
b) I was planning to use the Barlow weighting method. Has this or any other weighting method (Prentice, Self-Prentice) been

Simulate Network Cable Disconnect
Hello All,
I am having trouble simulating a network cable disconnect with KVM. I
would like to test active backup bonding for a switch IOS upgrade in a
production environment.
Basically I have the VM running on a bridged network which is also tied
into GNS3 simulating a small-scale version of the production
environment.
I have tried bringing down the vnetX interface and the actual virtual
