FW: very minor Rgui problem in rw0641 (PR#204)
Dear all, in using bug.report() on NT, I noticed what I find is an unusual default behaviour; namely that R stays frozen until the report is completed. Here's how to change it, and below, a question as to how others feel. > -----Original Message----- > From: Guido Masarotto [mailto:guido at hal.stat.unipd.it] [snip] > In the actual Windows implementation of bug.report, R waits

Question on "read only" behavior in smb.conf
Hi All, I've built Samba v2.2.8a on a RedHat 7.2 system and it seems to work ok. However I cannot understand the "read only" parameter in the following situation: smb.conf file: ------------------- [global] security=user encrypt passwords=yes [foo] path=/tmp/foo read only=yes The owner&mode of /tmp/foo is: ------------------------------------------ % ls -ld

Bug in Samba v2.2.8a with Windows API GetFileAttributes ?
Before my company was bought out by another company, we were using Samba v1.9.3 and I'm pretty certain that the GetFileAttributes was working properly but I can't be absolutely sure. Since the move, we're using v2.2.5 and just recently upgraded to v2.2.8a on Solaris 2.7. I'm doing my testing on an XP machine. I'm seeing that GetFileAttributes is always returning 0 instead of

Antwort: FW: R loops
it did help to create the separate vectors. The problem is, I would like to continue working with each vector on its own and make some further analysis. For that i need to allocate each vector in the filePatterns a unique name, which I just can't do. I'm not so great in R loops and the help over the net regards for loops in R is quite rare. I'm really thankful for every help.

I have upgraded from samba v2.2.8a to samba 3.0.14a and put the secrets.tdb file back in the /etc/samba directory. For some reason it seems like the old profile information isn't be located. The hostname and the domain name haven't changed. Is it advisable to copy the old secrets.tdb file back again to the new /etc/samba directory to see if it works? Or is there anyways to sync the

I'm having the same kind of problem too. Links to other excel workbooks are really breaking badly. One of them so bad that if I highlight the file through a windows explorer view; it kills the window immediately. I'm using RH 7.2 and Samba 2.2.4 -1 Please let me know if someone has some suggestions .... So far I've tried: veto oplock files = /*.mdb/*.MDB/*.ldb/*.LDB/*.xls/*.XLS

FW: Smbclient and Winpopup
Listers, Is the a way to tell SMBCLIENT to broadcast to the entire workgroup instead of having to send to all the individual clients? I've tried smbclient -M workgroup and it failed to resolve anything (which was expected). What Im ultimately wanting to do is set up the proper line in the PPP script to alert the users when the line status changes. Can this be done without to much trouble?

Fw: Spool directory permissions for printing
Hello, I am new to Linux and Samba. I am trying to print from a W98 box to a Linux printer. I am using Suse 7.2 and Samba 2.2.8a., and Linux is acting as a PDC. I created a user in Linux and put it in the users group and the lp group. The only way I got this user to print was changing the spool directory permissions (and all the files within it) from 0600 to 0770. BUT when I restarted Linux today,
