CentOS 5.2 with IBM SERVERAID 6i
I need to install CentOS 5.2 on a IBM Server xSeries 226, which comes with a IBM SERVERAID 6i RAID card. I think it is not a true hardware RAID card. I has, nevertheless, an interesting feature: 128MB of cache with battery backup. I launched the CentOS boot DVD and CentOS correctly identified the card and the RAID 5 array as configured by the controller's BIOS. My question now is:

ServeRAID 4Lx - Plain 2.6.12.6 works - Xen not
Hi *, I try to install Xen 3.0.0 on a IBM x342 with a ServeRAID 4Lx controller. The box boots with "plain" 2.6.12.6 (aic7xx- and serveraid-support included). It does not with a similar configuration of 2.6.12.6-xen0. Any hints, boot options? by Töns -- There is no safe distance. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

howto monitor disks on a serveraid-8k?
Hi, I'd like to monitor the disks connected to a ServeRaid-8k controller in a server running Centos 7 such that I can know when one fails. What's the best way to do that?

IBM ServeRAID Manager software
Hi there, I'm in the process of installing Centos 5.2 on an IBM x236 w/ ServeRAID 7k I recently acquired to act as a samba file server. The hardware has all passed various stress tests I could throw at it so we're okay there. My question is. Has anyone had any luck getting the latest IBM ServeRAID Manager v9.0 working in CentOS? If so how? ServeRAID Manager is based off Adaptec's

Use Speex on embedded ARM-device...
Hi Jean-Marc, I have just discovered the post of Vit Kanevsky and I have already sent him a message. I'm currently evaluating the work of stripping stuff on the win32 platform(nicer workflow ;-) and noticed that I could not just leave out the exc_*_table.c files without getting compiler/linker warning, but possibly I made a mistake there. Is my assumption correct that I just need the

hardware raid vs fake raid
Hi, Does anyone know how I can find out if an ibm serveraid 8k sas storage controller (zero channel RAID) is a real hardware RAID controller and supported in the standard CentOs kernel or is it a fake raid controller. I am trying to decide if I should get the serveraid controller or go get a 3ware controller. Regards, -- Tom Diehl tdiehl at rogueind.com Spamtrap address mtd123 at

IBM ServeRAID M5014 and CentOS 5.5
Hi all, we are about to buy some IBM x3550 M2 servers with ServeRAID M5014 SAS onboard controller. Can anyone confirm that these controllers will work with CentOS 5.5 (seems to be some rebranded LSI controller). I cannot find any hint in the 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 sources... Problem with SCSI controllers: Anaconda (and kernel option for grub/lilo)
Hi, I do seem to have a slight problem with upgrading two of our machines to CentOS (from SuSE, but that doesn't really matter). Both systems are IBM x-Series 360 with a ServeRaid controller for the "internal" hard disks an a QLogic QLA2200 fibre channel controller for an external stack of disks. On SuSE (kernel 2.4.26) the ServeRaid is controller 0 (resulting in the internal Raid

- Advice on NetFinity 5000 series
I have an opportunity to pick up a couple of NetFinity 5500's 4 way Xeon 550's w/ 2 gig RAM for very little $$$ I have seen this: http://www.mail-archive.com/asterisk-dev@lists.digium.com/msg00719.html In it, there is a passing remark to the Digium cards having problems with NetFinity's. Can anyone here comment on whether this is still an issue with * 1.0? It'd be a bummer if

SuSE 10 dom0 network and console problem
Hello, I have a problem getting the domain 0 (dom0) of xen running with SuSE 10. I have a SuSE 10 installation, which runs. When I switch to the xen kernel, the network does not work any more. Also the serial console does not work any more. If I login to the PC through (a very lousy) KVM, I can do local stuff, but the network does not work. (Ok, I can ping my own IP Address.) e.g. nslookup

Disk images and syslinux
Hi, I'm working on a Red Hat 7.3 based bootable cd. I have included a number of firmware update floppy images to it succesfully. However, I run into problems trying to build a floppy image for IBM ServerRAID firmware update. The firmware update disk set contains three disks. So their content does not fit into 1.44 nor 2.88 floppy images. To my understanding it possible to build a hard disk

Use Speex on embedded ARM-device...
Hi everyone, I'm currently looking into using speex in an embedded project using an ST ARM-device (STR9 family) just with internal memory (96kbyte) and no O/S. Does anyone know if the optimizations included in the code for ARMv4 and ARMv5e are appliable to this device? I would also need to strip down libspeex pretty hard to fit into the available memory. I just want to use a fixed bitrate

Coda and Ext3
Hi everyone, The Linux Coda drivers and the ext3 patches don't seem to get along very well, at least in Linux 2.4.7. I've got a stock 2.4.7 kernel with a patch applied to the USB drivers (for a sony digital camera; see http://www.sujal.net/tech/linux/ just a change in unusual_devs.h). After I applied the ext3 patches from http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/ . Basically,

IBM x306 - some progress
Hi, I asked yesterday about a problem with x306 and IRQ sharing, didnt get much info, now, i was playing with lspci, and see something strange, lspci -v shows me the TDM400P card is on IRQ 7, and the SCSI card is also on IRQ 7, lspci -bv (from the man - b - shows "bus-centric view, as seen by the BUS and not by the kernel) shows me the TDM400P is on IRQ 5, why does the kernel puts it on
