Roaming profiles with Samba3
Good morning everyone. I wanted to ask the people on this list who are currently using roaming profiles with samba 3 how it is working? I worked a little with roaming profiles with 2.2.8a, but it was not working as well as I wanted it to and im hoping that samba 3 roaming profiles are working pretty well. Our network here is really calling for roaming profiles to be a major option here. Our

Question on LDAP+Samba+PDC
Hello everyone. Well, I have been working very hard lately, trying to get a server up to act as our Samba PDC with LDAP. So far, everything seems to be working well. I've been able to get samba 2.2.8 and openldap 2.0.27 installed with no problems. I've setup my config files (ldap.conf, slapd.conf, smb.conf) as well as added some initial entries to the LDAP directory. I've been

Roaming profils cannot sync four files

The Windows 10 Client cannot copy these 4 files: C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin -> UNC\FS\profiles\testuser.V6\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin

Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of this error include

Roaming profiles and case sensitivity
Hi, Yesterday I found big problems concerning my roaming profiles. They seem to work on some computers where they are always used, on some other the did not load properly (i.e. a default profile was loaded instead). After some debugging with userenv.log I found the very strange problem: case sensitivity for ntuser.dat!: [...] IsCentralProfileReachable: Testing <F:\testuser\ntuser.dat>

Administrator account: For Windows 2000 and Samba
I know i've asked this before, but I was unable to get a clear response on how this works exactly. As I said before: The Administrator account on Windows machine is there by default. My question is, can I add a Administrator account to samba and make sure they are part of the Domain Admins group to ensure that I can still use the administrator account to do certain functions on my clients

samba pdc with ldap backend setup problems
Greetings... I'm struggling trying to set up a samba 3.0.23c PDC with ldap backend. The server is Fedora 5, OpenLdap version 2.3.19-4. I've got it so smbd and nmbd start properly and I can use a windows box and see the domain using srvmgr.exe and usrmgr.exe. I'm then able to signon from a windows XP computer with the command net use \\pdcserver\ipc$ /user:root rootpassword Some

Migrating roaming profiles to samba
Hi! I have an Windows 2003 with Active Directory providing authentication to the network, and a SUSE box providing file services (currently hosting the users' homes). Moving Profiles
Hi everyone, I'm about to install a Samba PDC in a network that previously was working as a workgroup. All the users have been logging into their local machines as "administrator" and all with the same password. What I would really like to do is to move their profiles with them, but as they are all using the same username and the like I can see this is going to cause problems. So

Questions on Roaming Profiles
Hello everyone. Well, I have a couple of questions regarding roaming profiles. I have been assigned the task of setting up a Samba PDC on our network. Lately, I have been doing a lot of research and reading to find out the best way I setup my system. I have a couple of questions I wanted to ask here, in hopes of getting some feedback. First, some details: The server will be Red Hat 8.0 with
