2.4.20, 2.4.21-pre2 and 2.4.20-ac2
Greetings, I have just tested Syslinux 1.75 and Syslinux 2.00 on a floppy disk that worked fine with Kernel 2.4.19 on a 1.44Mb floppy disk (the kernel about 1.1Mb in size). I decided to update the Kernel to the new 2.4.20 (as well as 2.4.21-pre2 and 2.4.20-ac2) which I tested to work fine when booting from the HDD using Lilo, but when I took my original disk that used 2.4.19 and replaced the

2.4.20 kernel patch for ext3
Hi everyone, I need a 2.4.20 kernel patch for ext3 file system. It's corrupting our data. I did some google, and all pages led to this page http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ Where all the link to the patches I need are broken. Anyone can help me get these patches? OR I'm running 2.4.20 kernel right now, if I just do the kernel upgrade, do I still need to patch for ext3?

2.4.20 & htree
Apologies for the newbie question: I have a (stock) 2.4.20 build (*not* -ac), and I'm trying to work with large ext3 directories. By large, I mean 160,000 files per directory. (Yes, I know it would be better in nested directories but such is life). I feel htree would benefit me. Having upgraded from an earlier version of 2.4, I don't see any change, and close reading of the 2.4 changelog

2.4.20: ext3/raid5 - allocating block in system zone/multiple 1 requests for sector]
(It was suggested I send a copy of this to ext3-users, so here it is - note that I need this RAID going so I've rebuilt with reiser, but would still appreciate suggestions; the message was original sent to the lkml) Hi, I've just built an 800GB RAID5 array and built an ext3 file system on it; on trying to copy data off the 200GB RAID it is replacing I'm starting to see errors of the

Performance difference with HTB patch in 2.4.14 and without patch in 2.4.20
Hi, I am using linux 2.4.14 box for my bandwidth management.I patched the kernel for HTB support.I think HTB comes by default with 2.4.20.My doubt is "Is there any performance difference between patched kernel i.e. 2.4.14 and unpatched kernel 2.4.20 with respect to bandwidth management ?" Setup IMQ on kernel 2.4.20
Hi, does someone have setup IMQ succesfully on kernel 2.4.20? If so, how did you do that. I only see the diff for kernel 2.4.19. Can I use that? [Bridge] [RELEASE] ebtables-brnf vs 2.4.20 try 2
Hi, The first patch had the problem that it was twice as long as intended, due to a '>>' instead of '>' in my script. I'm sure many of you figured that one out :) You can find the new, again untested, patch here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ebtables/ cheers, Bart

kjournald oops on 2.4.20
I have a NFS server with stock 2.4.20 patched with the 5 data=journal patches, plus the 2.4 LSM and NSA's selinux. The partition is mounted with the options: rw,noatime,nosuid,nodev,data=journal,errors=remount-ro The oops seems to happen when the fs is under load. I don't think I encountered this behavior with a non LSM/selinux kernel, so it may have something to do with those, but I

OOPS on 2.4.20-ac2
Hi, I got the OOPS below on my laptop running vanilla 2.4.20-ac2; I had to copy it byhand so it may not be 100% accurate. It hasn't happened again, and this is the first problem I've had with this kernel (or any other kernel, for that matter.) Anyway, I'm not sure, if a) this is actually an ext3 problem, b) OOPS reports of 2.4.20-ac2 are of any interest, so I won't bother with

Hello, I am currently struggling with the final step (so it seems) in using a RH9 box with standardized kernel build 2.4.20, with enabled acl, and Samba 3 built with ACL enabled as well. I am able to join the domian with net ADS join -U USERNAME, and use wbinfo and getent, showing the users and groups from the domain. However, I am incappable of setting the permissions so DOMAIN+USER can use the

Problems with RhostRSAAuthecntication and UsePrivilegeSeparation (RH9, 2.4.20-42.9.legacybigmem)
Hi, for some days now I am/was fighting with an annoying problem. I have to support an environment where RhostRSAAuthecntication via /etc/ssh/sshd_known_hosts is used for password-less login. This works fine with RH7.3 (and RH8) and openssh versions openssh-3.1p1-3 (and openssh-3.4p1-2). Our customer has now requested an upgrade to RH9. That comes with openssh-3.5p-11 and the password-less
