"No disk in drive" "anti-piracy" message
Hello! I have just installed a legal copy of a two--disk game using Wine. The first problem when trying to run the installed game was "Anti-piracy protection: no CD/DVD drive found". It could be prevented by mapping CD directly onto the root directory of a new drive. But then the next message showed: "Anti-piracy protection: No disk in CD drive" or something like that. The CD

Crash with 2.0.7 on Bull Escala with AIX
I experienced a crash with Samba 2.0.7 on AIX with parameters socket options = SO_SNDBUF=16384 SO_RCVBUF=16384 Anyone already heard about such problem. This machine was otherwise very reliable, and I didn't expect that at all. It worked very well for a few hours, and, without being much used, crashed, losing everything (serial console, tcp connections, ...) but ICMP reply (ping still

SDMI takes break on portable players...
OK, this news isn't specifically Vorbis related but it is interesting since SDMI players were supposed to play only "authorized" content (SDMI phase 2). ------------------ Los Angeles Times Saturday, May 19, 2001 Initiative to Bar Pirated Music on Portable Players Takes Break Technology: Coalition fails to reach a consensus on method for detecting unauthorized copies of songs.

security = server "random" failures
I have a Windows 2K SP2 terminal server and a Samba 2.2.7a server. The Samba server uses security=server with the 2K terminal server as the password server. Users log in to the terminal server and attempt to access (always the same) share on the Samba box. When there are no sessions open to the Samba server the connection from the terminal server always works; subsequent connections (with
