Is there such a thing as a Samba logoff script? I have a rather unique setup. I would like to simply use the existing UNIX /etc/passwd file for my authentication without having an smbpasswd file existing. does anyone know how to do this?

Has anyone sucessfully compiled Samba 3 on HP-UX? I have had no luck so far. Hello, I just found out that the binary Samba Solaris packages on samba.org were not built with AD support. Do you know any reason why? Everytime I add or remove some samba shares, I must restart smb service to take effect. Is there anyway to reconfig it without restart?

Using simple authentication I have been able to tie FDS to Samba 3.x.24. Knowing that the unix passwd and smb passwd are different, dare I ask how difficult it would be to have them sync? I had samba running fine on a Fedora 6 machine. I've upgraded to Fedora 11 and I'm getting huge delays when first accessing a folder. With Fedora 11 I'm ussing samba-3.3.2-0.33.fc11.i586.
