In case anyone was interested... this turned out to be a Super BONEHEAD problem.... My printer name was "testron". Well... come to find out, I have a share with the same name. Imagine that. Greetings! I'm trying to build Samba3.0beta. I'm running HP-UX 11.11 I'm using GCC 3.2.3 I ran the configure script. Then I ran Make. It crap's out pretty much immediately. It all works fine except that for some reason if a Win2KPro client has a file/folder open overnight (or for a long time), then they are disconnected. I had to first uninstall the packages: samba-common-2.0.5a-12 samba-client-2.0.5a-12 because of package dependencies. Hi all. We have been denying NFS access to our Linux et al users since they can of course set their uid to whatever they want. So we tell them to use smbfs. But when I just tried experimenting by mounting my own network share on my Linux box via smbfs, and created a few files, I loo on the serevr and the files are all owned by root?!
