NT logon scripts "error 59" ?
Is anyone having any problems mapping samba shares in a mixed NT/Samba domain ? I've setup samba as a domain member server using winbind, everything work perfectly except... If i edit my NT logon script and add a "net use j: \\samba\drive" entry in the script, only 90% of the users will map the samba drive, my workstation included, it's a mix, 98/2000 and XP workstation seem to

clang assembler keeps .Linfo_string symbols?
That was probably my fault - not sure of the niceties of the list. Also not sure I understand why the integrated assembler behaves differently. I guess gold is never used with object files produced this way? Photoshop "Disk Full" error, a linux filesystem NOT Samba issue
Hi all. Thought you would all be interested to know that i, like many others, am experiencing issues with Samba and Photoshop 7.0. The problem is specific to Photoshop 7.0 when saving files to a Samba share via a W2k/XP OS. Users experience a disk full error when saving from Photoshop but have no issues copying/moving etc files to/from the share outside of PS. Well, after some testing, the

File/Dir permissions under a share
I am trying to duplicate the setup on my netware box on my samba box. Everyone wants to keep a single drive letter and go to the various dir's from there. So, what I did was create a share called "sys" and created various dir's underneath it, e.g. hr, eng, etc.... I setup the hr dir and files therein with 770 (i tried 777 also) and root:hr permissions. If an hr group member

getting Samba 3.0.1 to use NIS UID's/GID's instead of its own
There are two NT domains, the resource domain (pretend it's RESDOM) and the user domain (MASDOM) where RESDOM trusts MASDOM. My Samber server (COOL) is registered in the RESDOM domain. I can do smbclient -L COOL -U MASDOM/myname and it asks for a password and displays the shares correctly, even picking up the NIS logon share. The problems start, however, when I want to connect to the myname
