Cannot access share from Kodak printer
I'm trying to use a Samba (3.0.37) share on my ASUS RT-ac66R router as a destination for scans from my Kodak Office Hero 6.1 all-in-one printer. I'm currently getting an invalid User ID or Password error message. I have been unable to increase the Samba log level at all even after editing the log level in smb.conf. Before an old router running DDWRT (including Samba) failed, scanning to

net password from OS/2 client
I am trying to get 'net password ...' to work from an OS/2 client to a Samba
3.1.15 server. However, I get an Invalid Password error whenever I run net

DEBUG_PASSWORD on in the build and tracing set to 100 I ran 'net view

can connect to 2 samba servers by name but to one by IP only
(This is a follow up on an earlier post but I have tried to summarize a
little better.)
I am having problems connecting to one samba server by host name (e.g
"net use \\servername" or via windows explorer) over IPSec VPN. I can
connect via "net use \\IPADDRESS." For every other Samba or Windows
server I can connect via host name. The problem host is the Samba PDC

4.2.14 (or newer) support "Windows for Workgroups 3.1a"?
There may be various "signing" parameters that you may need to set to
"no" on the samba PDC.
I would also disable SMB3. Windows 10 does support SMB3 but (in my
experience) Samba does not properly implement it, so you will get
problems. Windows 7 does not support SMB3 so will fall back to SMB2
anyway.
I suspect at this point making Windows 7 and Windows 3.11 interact

security = server, username map, different domain -> no login
Hi,
I posted a similar question a few days before. I'm still confused what
might be wrong with my config.
Setup:
- update from Samaba 2.2.12 to 3.0.10
- Solaris 8 Server
- server is not a domain (EMEA) member, and it's not possible to add the
server to the EMEA domain :(- server is only in workgroup ERS (our department, no DC, only a few hosts).
- no winbind
- authentification happens

samba 3.06rc2, suse 64amd and os2
Hi,
I am having a lot of trouble with getting 0s2 to talk with samba. They
seem to be making the right noises at handshake time, and seem to set
up a session no problems (using ethereal, monitoring packets).
However, when it comes to actually transferring information (such as
doing a listing of a share from the os2 box) it crashes with the error:

Hello.
I need to let Windows for Workgroup 3.11 clients (industrial machinery)
connect to shares in the PDC samba Version 4.2.14-Debian.
I started to be able to connect to shares exported by domain members windows
professional (7, 10) machines (share permissions include "domain users"), after
I added "lanman auth = yes" to PDC and updated the user password,

Hi Rowland
sorry for not being clear.
In my first post I already wrote:

smb service response times + OpenVPN
Recently I had the chance to look at smb service response times over OpenVPN
using Wireshark/TShark. Here are 2 samples. In both samples a Win XP Pro
machine is connecting to a server running samba-3.3.7 and openvpn-2.0.6_9 on

Anyone else seen this?

Samba causing problems with NT tools
Samba is causing a couple huge problems for the NT admins here since we
switched a bunch of machines to security=server and started running nmbd.
We're running Samba 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 on a mix of Solaris, HP-UX, and OSF1
machines.

msdfs samba client - Linux CIFS Client
Hello,
my company recently changed the stucture of some shares (Win2000). Since
then, we are not able to access these shares from Linux/Solaris anymore.
I tried smbmount and smbclient and can access the top-level directory of
the share and see the directory structure, but I can't see any data inside
these directories.
A few days ago, someone told me that msdfs is used for the new structure
