winxp + sp3 = samba-shared printer hangs the system
hi,
since I upgraded some winxp-pro sp2 client to sp3, my samba-shared
printers are no-longer usable :-/
With sp3, if I run notepad and choose the men? File-Print, the "print"
window hangs and does not show any printer for about 1 minute! The
same thing happens when I click on the men? Start-settings-Printer and
faxes.
With sp2, everything works correctly and I can browse all my

login scripts --what to use
Hi,
We're setting up a PDC, and would like to have a login script to deliver
the mapped drives to users in particular groups, and connect to
printers. The printer drivers come from the [print$], share.
Does anyone have any good resources for this? What's the easiest and
simplest thing to get going --vbscript or batch files?
Thanks,

how do you manage printers on workstations?
How do you manage printers on Windows workstations?
What I mean, suppose you have many classrooms, different printers (which
sometimes change) in these classroms - how do you manage which
workstation (or a group of them) will use which printer?
So far I've been using WPKG for that - as I described here:
http://wpkg.org/wiki/index.php/Printer_configuration
But somehow I feel it

adding printers from netlogon script
While this doesn't relate specifically to Samba, I need to do this in a netlogon .bat file
in a Samba domain. In my network, I have a printer hooked to a JetDirect so that it is a
TCP/IP printer. Is there a way I can automatically have this printer mapped/added when the
user is logged on?

adding printers from netlogon script
I don't know the final answer BUT if you have something simmilar to a
cyber-cafe LAN (I mean, users use all the computers, and maybe some
users come back to login with the same name) then you have to install a
printer only once in a computer, loging as the administrator and
installing drivers. Then what users will have to do is JUST add the
printer without installing. I know that it's

PrintUIEntry for NT4?
For Win2K, I've been using RunDLL32 printui.dll,printuientry to do a bunch
of different printer related stuff (most notably, mapping printers and
setting the default).
Looks like NT4 doesn't have the same stuff. Is there anything classier I
can use than NET USE under NT4 (without downloading something like
Kixstart)?
Thanks for your help.

logon script question
Hi list
I'm wondering if it and how it is possible to add printers to a
workstation with a logon script like mounting shares. I can't find
anything about this on the inetnet so is this possible?

The hardware emulation (interrupts, condition flags, register file etc)
and execution framework (block selection and execution) from qemu are
still used - translating the ARM to the native architecture is only part
of the story :)

Samba-Cups: all works except browsing when printer is not defined in smb.conf
Cups 1.2.7
Debian Etch with Samba 3.0.24
Clients: WinXP SP3 (with Firewall completely off for testing)
When I define a printer specifically in smb.conf, they show up as shared
printers in WinXP. But when I follow the normal way (see below) to load all
from cups they don't.
I followed mainly the latest SAMBA-HOWTO (chapter 21-22)
The only error I see in log.smbd when accessing the

[PATCH] launch: switch from -nographic to -display none
The latter is a better way to disable the qemu display output as we
need to, without enabling extra devices (which are disabled already,
anyway).
Also, related to the change above, ban the -display parameter from the
ones that can be supplied by the user.

Multiple Login scripts
Hi all,
Just a quick question about login scripts for a large number of users who
change rooms a lot.
I have several rooms each with a printer, and nearly a thousand users divided
into two main groups - pupils and teachers who change rooms on a routine
basis. Is it possible to set up multiple login scripts that would be executed
in sequence i.e. run by user is %u, and machine is %m is it

Conflicting parameters on qemu call
Hi Lists,
I currently have the issue of wanting to use emu-system-x86_64 on a ppc64le platform.
It is imperative to pass the "-accel tcg, thread=multi” parameter to qemu when starting an instance, as without that, it will only use one thread and hence of limited/no use.
The problem is, that libvirt itself, passes “-machine q35,accel=tcg” to qemu, which is a different parameter, that
