Fw: INTERNAL ERROR Report
I realized that my choice of options for grep did not do a very good job of including the last error message before the INTERNAL ERROR. I've included it in this email. Sorry. create_policy_hnd: ERROR: too many handles (1025) on this pipe. INTERNAL ERROR Report
I have read the BUGS.txt file, used 'testparm' (successfully), and run through all the steps in DIAGNOSIS.txt. I don't see any problems that those tools have identified. The BUGS.txt file indicated that INTERNAL ERROR was almost certainly the result of a bug. I'm hopeful I have sent you the information you need. Let me know if there is something more I need to send. Continual lib/access.c:check_access - what's it mean?
When I look at the log file for a particular user, I see the following, about every 11-12 minutes. The only thing I'm using my Samba server for is acting as a master browser, and print server (with CUPS). There are no domain logons. This activity in the log file keeps going well beyond when a print job is complete. [2003/04/12 15:27:25, 2, pid=948, effective(0, 0), real(0, 0)]

Samba 2.2.5 and srv_spoolss_nt error
Hi! I'm having problems with printing with Samba 2.2.5 and WinXP. I have samba setup as a PDC and have 3 printers: HP LaserJet 5000N, HP LaserJet 8550DN and HP DesignJet 1055CM. I used WinXP to upload the drivers for the printers to XP clients and to 98 clients, and all went fine. I downloaded the lastest PCL6 drivers for the Laserjet printers and the HPGL2/RTL driver for the Designjet. I

NT_STATUS_RPC_PROCNUM_OUT_OF_RANGE when printing
Hi all, After building Samba 4.1.20 for Ubuntu 14.04 x64 I encountered this issue when using shared printers: every time a client prints or changes printer settings, this message is logged in the log: dcerpc_spoolss_ReplyClosePrinter failed [NT_STATUS_RPC_PROCNUM_OUT_OF_RANGE]. Printers print fine, so it is probably harmless, but I still wonder why this happens. With log level = 3 I get

3.0.13 winxp pro printers offline and don't come online, but you can print to them (shorter version - no log level 10)
Friends, I have upgraded to 3.0.13 as I thought the random way in which only some printers are showing as offline on some win xp workstations, and refuse to come online, even if I use "Use Printer Online" in the properties and on the other hand on other winxp pro workstations all printers show the same behaviour, they are all offline. But even though they all show offline you can print

nobody owned smbd processes are not ending
I am running the latest release of Samba on RH8 (2.2.7-5.8.0). I use it primarily to provide master browse functionality, and to act as a print server (using CUPS 1.1.17-0.2). I am watching a TOP session, after printing from a W2K workstation. (I restarted Samba before I did this). There is now one smbd processed owned by nobody, which is not ending (and the print has completed). In my

Unable to access printers
Hi All, Since updating a from 3.0.1-2 to 3.0.2-1 a few weeks back I've been unable to print. I checked all the obvios settings, but as they had been working perfectly for some time prior was not surprised to find the configuration was correct. The authentication is configured via winbind to a 2000 ADS PDC. security = DOMAIN I've since updated again to 3.0.2-2 and found the issue

PDC + LDAP, cannot access LDAP when not root
I'm using Debian Sarge, Samba (3.1.14a) with the ldapsam backend, and OpenLDAP (2.2.23). When attempting to join an Windows XP+SP2 computer (BILLGATES) to my domain (WORKGROUP), using the Administrator account, I am told by windows: 'Access denied.' The logs (attached) seem to indicate that the user Administrator is being authenticated (which would have? to use LDAP), but when It

Printer Admin Difficulties
I have been trying to setup a new print server on Fedora 12 based around samba-3.4.7-58.fc12.x86_64 and cups-1.4.2-28.fc12.x86_64. All looks good except for the ability for printer administrators to manage printers. Whether I specify users in a system group using the deprecated printer admin option, or specifically using net rpc rights and the SePrinterOperatorPrivilege, it does not matter.

printing problems and permissions
I've got Samba 2.2.3 running as a PDC for some Win9x and WinNT clients. Everything seems to be fine except that occasionally (but rather often, at least every second day) printing from one of the NT-clients is impossible. In the log file it says (word wrap here in the editor): [2002/02/26 18:04:21, 0] printing/printing.c:print_job_start(952) print_job_start: insufficient permissions to open

continuous access to printer causes high memory usage
Hi list, I am trying to track down a printer-related problem. The most important symptom is a smbd process using almost all memory on my machine (up to 800 MB, at the specific case of which I've posted the logs.) At some point the VM will kill the smbd process, freeing the memory. Apart from this, samba keeps on running fine. Investigation of a level 3 debug log of this process has shown
