Implementation of W2K Group Policies from a Linux Server
I am an evil M$ MCSE :), who of late is planning on opening his
own business... Due to the large cost involved with setting up
Win2K server, both Hardware and OS, we are considering a Linux
server setup. We have SOME experience with Linux, but were after
information specifically on the possible implementation of Win2K
Group Policies (as well as 'Domain' Authentication_ for the client

OT: carrying a router, firewall, switch, ser ver, some phones with me on flight to Europe
Well here's a suggestion - a little crazy - but works... Most equipment is
taking the 120vac and converting it into DC voltage. So why not just feed it
DC voltage directly???
We had a situation where our field techs needed to test dsl circuits and
voip ata from the demarcation point outside a house or business. A UPS might
have worked - but the down conversion of 12v dc battery in ups up to

policies do not get applied with w2k sp2
we are using samba 2.2.3a-6 for debian (woody) and found that our w2k machines
do not apply the ntconfig.pol when sp2 is installed. (the sp1 machines do)
Is there a way around this?

NT4.0 policies and samba 2.2.8a. And is there a howto with step by

Open Source W2k Policy Implementation (was Re: Windows2000 policies in a Samba PDC)
John,
What I've done so far is mostly a hack. I've implemented some custom
VBS scripts at login to install software (that only works part of the
time because my method for granting the users admin priviledges is a UI
based VBS hack which types the password in for them from an encrypted
VBS script) and I've yet to implement any Windows policies as I've not
been motivated enough to

Decent How-To now on the wiki for setting up Transport Layer Security
Hi all,
For anyone that's interested in setting up TLS with libvirt, but hasn't
gotten around to it yet, there's a decent guide on the wiki now:
http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/TLSSetup
It's user focused (ie SysAdmin's), and has lots of pics explaining
concepts, plus shows what needs to be done, and shows how to do it.
Please note, it doesn't cover SASL, it's just

Does 3MB/sec seem as fast as
John,
I haven't done any direct performance testing, although I am planning on
figuring that out now. (BTW, how is performance testing ran?) However, I
can say that since converting over to the Samba PDC/File Server that the
file transfer performance just feels much faster.

[PATCH]add usb-ver format check to avoid usb-list error and incorrect usb-ver saved into config file
Add usb-ver format check to "usb-hc-create".
In original file, "usb-hc-create" allows usb-ver parameter as "2/2.0/2.0aaa". In low level hc create, it only uses the integer part (that is "2"), so there is no problem. But 2/2.0/2.0aaa will be saved into VM config.
After that, while doing "usb-list", it cannot handle "2.0/2.0aaa" and will

this morning all of our DCs (debian bookworm) upgraded their bind9

not come up successfully and crash after loading the DLZ:

Hello,
Anyone have any insight or fix for the error below? It was the last error
in the log before Asterisk crashed. I am running Asterisk 1.6.2.6 only for
the T.38 support.

tseriesChaos ver. 0.1
Dear all,
I have uploaded to CRAN a new package: tseriesChaos.
This is an early version (0.1) with basic tools for the explorative
analysis of nonlinear time series motivated by chaos theory. Until now,
the package is largely inspired by the TISEAN project (by Rainer Hegger,
Holger Kantz and Thomas Schreiber:
