LookupDomain request gets STATUS_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN
I have a Windows XP box that I am trying to get to join my Samba domain. I
have applied the registry hacks to allow the proper encryption parameters (I
think).
When joining, it asks for the administrator username and password then waits
a while and says that the domain doesn't exist. I used Ethereal to watch the
traffic to see if I could figure out what was wrong. If anyone needs this
dump,

My Problems with XP and Samba Domain (and how I fixed it)
I had previously posted twice concerning problems I was having. I assume
that because I didn't get any answers that perhaps no one knew what was the
matter. Now that I figured it out maybe someone else has the same problem
and I can help to fix it.
After having already applied the proper registry hacks and policy edits
required for Windows XP (This is one area of John Terpstra's PDF that

Samba 2.2.7 as PDC causing BSOD on 2K domain logon
Hello,
Have wrestled this one for about a week, now, getting frustrated ;-)
Running samba as PDC for my domain (cf. smb.conf further down)
When logging in on my 2K Pro machine, I first get a "can't find roaming
profile, attempting local profile"-error, but logon using my user's smb
account accepts only the correct password and so the identification part
works well.

Terminal server login problem
Hi all,
I have a strange problem with the combination of Win2k3 and Samba. The
samba server is configured as a PDC, the terminal server as a member of
the domain. Logging in from the terminal server console with a domain
userid works; logging in from a terminal server session from the same
machine fails with the message: "The system can not log you on due to
the following error: The

are there any instructions or tests i can make to check the sieve

It still doesn't make sense to me. I do notice that the version you're
using is ancient (dated 26-09-2013), which may well the problem.
Do have the ability to upgrade?
Regards,
Stephan.

PDC upgraded from 2.2.7 to 3.0.0beta1, now XP clients can't logon
After upgrading the PDC from 2.2.7 to 3.0.0beta1, W2K clients
still work but the XP ones cannot log on to the domain any more.
The client pops up a message "The procedure is out of range",

javamail imap listing
Hi Michael,
Geronimo JavaMail hard defaults to / separator. If the separator is
manually set to undefined it automatically calculates the separator
correctly.
However neither through JavaMail or by command line does
LIST "." "*"
or
LIST . "*"
produce any root listing of default folder on my Dovecot installation.
Only
LIST "" "*"
produces a

If Dovecot is using "." as the separator in the base level of hierarchy, then it correctly is returning nothing for 'LIST / "*"' - since no mailboxes in Dovecot live under that base level of

read_data: read failure for 4
Thse kinds of error messages show up all the time in my logs...is this
bad? I've had no complaints about lost data or anything.
I'm running samba 2.2.4 on FreeBSD 4.6 (previously 4.5), on an IDE RAID.
I upgraded our file server from an older linux box about 4 weeks ago, and
have been getting this error in the smbd logs ever since (ie, the entire
times it's been running samba).

manually as that could cause other compatibility issues? is there
another way to test the configuration on the server?

Can't login into PDC, Running Samba 2.2.7 on Suse 8.2
I am new to Linux and Samba, and I have attempted to set-up a Samba PDC.
However, every time I try to log in to my domain using Win XP or Y2K I
receive errors. Please keep in mind this is my first time doing this.
Steps Taken:
-Setup the samba configuration (smb.conf) using swat. [SEE BELOW]
-Created User Linux accounts, (default group:100, shell:/bin/false),
using YaST2.
-Created User Samba

W2k no longer has Trust to samba pdc
SMB.conf, smbpasswd, log files attached to this message.
I have several W2k Workstations, with a SAMBA 2.2.3 PDC.
Looking at the logs it seems that stevedallas (W2K client) is getting
validation errors as "visitor"
(which DOES exist...)
I am not sure what happened, but I must have removed all of the important
parts of the
server validation.
OUTLAND is domain, W2k/ clients are

Thanks Michael. I have forwarded that link to the Geronimo JavaMail
team in case they think of anything their end.
But in the documentation you sent it seems that Dovecot should respond
in the case of
LIST / "*"
if my understanding is correct
Is there any way to adjust this behaviour in the settings? I am
struggling to search for a solution to the problem given the limited
