domain admins not being applied to windows box
Hi, I have recently upgaded from samba 2.2 to samba 3.0. I used to have "domain admin group = @winadmin" in my smb.conf, but I understand from the documentation that it is deprecated in favour of "net groupmap set "Domain Admin" winadmin". I would expect unix users who are members of the unix group winadmin to become Domain Admins, then, but they don't ?. Do I

samba with ldapsam: first "net join" always fails, second succeeds
Created an "add machine" script that basically looks for an unused uid/rid, and then creates a stub LDAP entry for the machine; the first time I issue "net join", the script is invoked and creates the LDAP entry correctly, but the join operation fails nevertheless: f1sa:~# net -U winadmin join winadmin's password: [2006/09/08 10:19:40, 0] utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(191)

Problems with migrating from local to roaming profiles
Hello everyone! I have had a lot of luck with mailing lists in the past, so I'm hoping this one works out well also. I've recently helped my company move from an NT4 PDC to a Samba 2.2.7a PDC and everything has gone smoothly until this point. We made the decision to migrate to roaming profiles so our users could move around and use whichever computer they wanted to unlike before,

another Win2KSP3/Samba2.2.8a-PDC Problem
Hi list, I am faced by a strange problem w/ one of our 10 win2k/sp3 clients in a samba2.2.8a pdc-network. If I want to logon I get a message like this(translated from german): "Your profile has not been loaded, but you will be logged in to a local Profile. Your serverside profile has not been loaded because its security-properties are not properly." and that's it. Even if I blast my

Moving a computer from a down domain to a new domain
I had been running a samba server, the AMAHI F12 distro, that has samba 3.4.9. It ran well enough, but I was planning on replacing it with ClearOS. Well monday night I lost my server harddrive, so now it is crunch time to update/upgrade. I think I have ClearOS configured properly, it is running samba 3.6.10 (Redhat 6.4 based). So far I have tried to add two of my XP systems to the new

Windows 7/Samba unable to log in via name, works by IP
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help with this. We have a 3.3.8 Samba server, on Centos 5.5 64, security DOMAIN, works beautifully with XP. When windows 7 systems attempt to log in via \\NAME, the login window just continually repeats, but they can login successfully when using \\IP_ADDRESS Samba log shows the below in response to windows 7 login attempts. I was used (in SambaNT/OpenLDAP) to put on CUPS configuration the statement (/etc/cups/cups-files.conf): SystemGroup printops and add to 'printops' group some users that can manage cups. I see :( That what I would call a good struct size optimisation. Please tell me there was another reason behind this being only 3 instead of 8 or 16 bits, right ? 2017-01-25 18:30 GMT+01:00 Tor-Einar Jarnbjo <tor-einar at jarnbjo.name>: > Hello Olivier, > > the limitation is in the file format itself, as the number of channels is > encoded in a 3 bit field in the streaminfo

Dear Rusers, I have some data in .csv file like "2004-8-1" and "2004-10-1", and i need to convert them into days from the origin (January 1, 1960). I have tried the function date.mmddyyyy(), but cannot get it. Anybody can show me how to handle the date data? Thanks very much! My dataset like: time 2004-8-1 2004-10-1 2001-9-1 2002-9-1 -- With Kind Regards,
