samba3, cups, and pointprint drivers install
Hello,
I've got a redhat9 system with cups and samba3 installed. I want to use
this machine for both local and network printing. On the local side apps
can print just fine, the cups configuration is working great.
Network-side is not the case. I've got a mixture of 2k and 9x clients, so
i'm going to need drivers for both configurations. In smb.conf i've got:
printcap name = cups

using cupsaddsmb with W98
Hello
I've got some problems downloading Adobe PostScript printer drivers on a
Windows 98 client :
On the server side (Red Hat 9 / Samba 3.0.2 / Cups 1.1.17) :
I installed succesfully my printers with Cups and they work fine on Linux
I ran cupsaddsmb tool to copy the Adobe files in the [print$] directory
which gives this result :
in /etc/samba/W32X86/2 : cupsdrvr.dll cups.hlp

2.2.8a, printer driver download: need to use setdriver
Hello
I'm setting up the automatic printer driver download feature, and it works
nicelly except for one little thing: I have to use, on the samba machine,
rpcclient's setdriver command to associate a printer with its driver.
I didn't see this requirement in the Samba howto, it only mentions setdriver
as a way to speed up large installations. Am I missing something? Should

APW and Windows 7
Hi,
I have set up my samba server as a print only server. Nothing specific
is wrong. The print server is working but I have a couple of questions
about using APW to install printer drivers and Windows 7.
Linux server: Centos 6
Samba version: 3.6.3 - Default install (./configure; make && make install)
I did the usual,
net use \\myprinter\print$ /user:root
Browse to \\myprinter. In

Problem uploading printer drivers
I'm running samba 2.2.2-6 on a redhat 7.2 box running 2.4.9-7 kernel...
I'm trying to upload printer drivers from a Windows 2000 client. I've
followed the instructions in the samba howto collection. I've created
the print$ share, created the printer directory and subdirs, and made
sure they are writeable by me. I put myself in the write list and the
printer admin list.

cupsaddsmb - why the heck can't I get rpcclient-addprinter to work?
I can't seem to get the rpcclient-addprinter to work - grrrrrr
It looks like the drivers files are copied correctly and the NT drivers are added
correctly but the addprinter command says it's unsuccessful!
rpcclient localhost -N -U JOHNSON\\root -c 'enumprinters'
shows the printer!!
What's going on? I've tried removing
