Tukey HSD (or other post hoc tests) following repeated measures ANOVA
Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to R, and I am aware that others have had this
problem before, but I have failed to solve the problem from previous
replies I found in the archives.
As this is such a standard procedure in psychological science, there
must be an elegant solution to this...I think.
I would much appreciate a solution that even I could understand... ;-)
Now, I want to calculate a

getResponse(model.lme) yields incorrect number of dimensions error
Dear R experts,
I would like to get an R^2 - like value for a multilevel regression using lme.
I followed an archived suggestion by José
Pinheiro to use the squared correlation between
fitted and observed values, i.e.,
(cor(fitted(model.lme), getResponse(model.lme))^2
but getResponse returns the error message
Error in val[, level] : incorrect number of dimensions
The same happens with

Special authentication question
I'm up to create a Samba server which provides PDF-printers in a network.
This server should rely on a special remastered Knoppix system.
Once deployed in a network, the server should be accessible for
configuration by a browser interface which allowes to create and configure
those printer shares. The main advantage of this server should be the
ability to email the "printed"

Surface plot for polynomial regression
Dear R-experts,
my goal is to visualize the following polynomial regression as a 3D-surface:
Z = b0 + b1*X + b2*Y + b3*XY + b4*X^2 + b5*Y^2
I believe that a solution to this problem may be of interest to a wider
range of scientists because the problem is a derivative of a more general
problem, i.e.: how to describe the relationship between one dependent
variable and the DIFFERENCE between two

Samba 2.2.5: denying access to printer...
Hy there,
I have a problem with Samba 2.2.5 (on AIX 4.3) concerning a printer
share.
I set up a few printer share which work well. Now I want to restrict
the access to one of them. In order to achieve this I put in a
hosts deny=all
hosts allow=<IP-Adresses of hosts, which should be allowed to print>
in the corresponding printer-share-section.
What happens is this:

rsync 3.0.9 compile --copy-devices --write-devices not working
Hi Folks,
i recently try to use rsync on devices. The goal is to sync two logical
volumes without copy the whole.
According to
http://gitweb.samba.org/?p=rsync-patches.git;a=tree
write-devices.diff
copy-devices.diff
should do the job.
I downloaded
https://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsync-3.0.9.tar.gz
and tried to apply the two .diff from your gitweb
resulting in:

Scaled or unscaled variance covariance matrix
Hi, does anyone know which of the scaled or unscaled version of the
variance-covariance matrix of regression coefficients (as produced by
ls.diag) is the correct one, or when one is better than the other? I am
interested in univariate linear regression (lm). Thank you very much.

No KDC in requested realm (workgroup name)
Hello all,
this is with Samba 3.3.4 on FreeBSD, built locally from ports. The
server is joined to a Windows 2008 AD domain. I'm only using winbind,
because all I need are users and groups; this isn't a file server.
As far as I can tell, it is actually working fine; winbindd can get
all the required information from the DC.
The NetBIOS name of the domain is MYDOMAIN, the DNS name is

acessing LDAP via SSL
Hi there,
I have Samba 2.2.3a configured to access openLDAP 2.0.18 for
authentication. The autentication via ldap protocol works fine. Then I
tried to enable SSL to connect samba with the LDAP server. Calling
smbasswd generates this:
#/usr/local/samba/bin/smbpasswd atuttle -D9
New SMB password:
Retype new SMB password:
ldap_open_connection: connection opened
Bind failed: Can't contact LDAP

Multiple language output - Correct in RGui, wrong in .txt after sink()
I have the following problem with outputting multilingual data to a file.
I get (except for Korean) what I expect as result in the RGui, but when I
use sink() to output to a text file loose the characters in the foreign
languages.
I post a small example below. Since I am not sure how well my email system
as the list copes with all the different characters I have additionally

dovecot and time
I found something interesting via strace. lda is writing a timestamp
with utime before doign the fsync, but I'm really not a C guy, so I
have no idea why that's going on via procmail and not via commandline.
I assume it's related to the choice of pread64 vs read.
when called from commandline (working):
read(0, "July 14-20, 2013\n10 courses. Bon"..., 4096) = 4096

Authentification using Linux user/password
I am writing an in-house web application with RAILS and I want users to
log-in to the application before they can do anything. Since all users
already have an accont on the linux machine where the web application
will be running, I''d like to use these accounts for authentification.
Is there a way in Ruby/RAILS to authenticate a user/password pair

Add user script executed after PDC authentification failed
Hello,
I've got a recent problem when upgrading my PDC from 3.0.x to 3.5.3.
When a fileserver (samba 3.0.x configured as security=domain) is contacted
by a new non domain user (here I used "localuser1"), the fileserver invoke
the add user script although the PDC does not authenticate that user.
Prior to the PDC samba upgrade the local users were not created and this is

Authentification required again.
Hi,
I have the following problem. Users login into their NT machine and
that gets them a bunch of network drives. However the first time they
access them, they get asked for their username/password again,
although the one they gave when logging in was perfectly valid.
How did they get NT to forget the password they used to login?
Does this have anything to do with the encrypted passwords?
