| to me this is not apparent. I just tried "R CMD INSTALL ." in a package

Seconded.

other flavors of Unix
I downloaded the source 2.2.5.tar file, untarred it, and ran through the
config.guess and configure scripts. I'm running on a Concurrent PowerMaxion
Motorola Unix version 4.1.3.....
With a new config.guess script I was able to run more of the configure
script but it bombs out on oplocks..with a message stating that running
samba would be unsafe without locking...
What can I do to get around

Incorrect disk size reported at 20.0 MB
All,
I'm recently seeing an issue with how Samba is reporting
the disk space available from a NFS share. Checking the
properties from a PC system displays all mapped network
drives as having 20.0 MB size with zero free disk space
available. We updated to Samba version 3.0.11 this morning
with no change in results. I have checked the bug reports
and haven't found anything that resembles

about python-dbus and PyQt4-dbus? They don't seem to included
after installing PyQt4-4.4, sip 4.4.5, and hplip 3.9.2.

Problems compiling OpenSSH [no version info] on HP-UX 10.20 was: (no subject)
Aloha Jiwen (I used to get kama'aina discounts, but
no longer)--
First, you didn't tell us what OpenSSH source code
version you're trying to compile. Without that info
there are any number of possible problems--so I'll
assume (for now) that you're using the latest
released portable version of OpenSSH. Please
reply with specific version info.

cups & hp-toolbox
Hello,
I installed a printer (HP LaserJet 4350n) via CUPS Web Interface.
Following this when I run hp-toolbox a dialog claiming that "No
Installed HP Devices Found" is displayed.
This is true even when I am the root user.
This worked as expected on RHEL4 on the same computer (Thinkpad X31)
with the same printer.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Finding the "levels" in a data frame column
I have a data frame that looks as follows.
df <- data.frame(city=c("Houston", "Houston", "El Paso", "Waco", Houston",
"Plano", "Plano")
What I want to do is get a list of the city values. Currently, when I run
df$city, I get all the values.
I just want to know the four cities that appear.
So instead of: "Houston",

Interpolating variables into quoted strings
Hello
I am new to R and am coming from a Perl background. I have had trouble
figuring out from the documentation how to interpolate a variable into a
quoted string (if it's possible). This seems to be necessary when writing a
script that must print out strings (for example plot legends) whose content
is calculated during the execution of the script.
In perl I could write:

[LLVMdev] Question about method CodeExtractor::severSplitPHINodes
Thanks for reply Chuck.
Please excuse me if I'm not supposed to reply to all.
Are you saying all PHI nodes are required to include all its predecessor
blocks no matter they have input or not?
What about successor blocks? Are they optional if they don't provide inputs?
BTW, where should I look at to verify this, the mem2reg.cpp &
PromoteMemToReg.cpp?
Thanks a lot.

SMBMOUNT on SGI
I would like to use smbmount on a SGI running IRIX 6.5.1m. The distribution
of samba for IRIX does not include the executables smbmount or smbmnt. Is
there a source for these executables?

Saving MS Word Documents to a Samba Share from NT
I have installed Samba 2.0.4a on SGIs running IRIX 6.5. My PC is running NT

If I create a new document and attempt to save it to a Samba share I get the
following error message: Word cannot complete the save due to a file
permission error. (G:\XX\TEST.DOC). A listing of the directory from Unix

More [A tangent on RC5] Cryptography patents (was: openssl lib question.)

I thought a clarification of one
point (specifically WRT RC5 which
was mentioned in the original question)
might be worthwhile...because what
I should have said originally was
that "To the best of my non-legally-
