"Continious Repo" vs. 'normal' Centos-Base/Updates questions
I have some questions about the "Continious Repo". Does the "Continious Repo" replace the Centos-Base/Updates repo? Is the "Continious Repo" in a standard place on the CentOS mirrors? Ie. can I just add another line to my rsync script to get this repo? It is not possible for me to just update directly off the net (I have a slow and unreliable network connection)

Cannot browse to c: on widows applications
Hi, I'm new to wine so I probably have missed somethingh on my configuration. I installed Wine on my Ubuntu 10.4 laptop without problems. Then I installed a Windows programme and ran via the Wine Programme load. The programm started OK but when I attempted to browse for a file the path shown was my Wine path, (/home/vasco/.wine/drive_c/users/vasco/Desktop). I would have thought it should be

WINE With Some Joost....
I was wondering if it would be possible for WINE to officially support the online TV client JOOST (www.joost.com)? Some time ago someone had patched WINE to be able to run it but of course this way you really couldn't update WINE at all. There are many people on the Joost forums asking for a Linux version, but there doesn't seem to be anything going on in this area with the developers

Fwd: Re: Samba Freezes accessing shares/ low performance
Thanks Volker, I've Changed the values as you suggested, i noticed that the default value for max xmit is much less 16384! Still I feel like the performance is very slow indeed. This because on server, a can make copys arround 8gb/s! and in samba is all so slow and it freezes as i sad many times... Can you have a second look to the log, to see if you see anything strange? File descriptor leak (?) in Python
Hi all, Recently I have upgraded a Python application from Xapian 1.0.7 to 1.2.2 in order to use the PostingSource class. It is a long-running process, and I am seeing the number of open file descriptors to the Xapian database steadily increase. I suspect what I am seeing is some kind of resource leak. I have no idea if it is a problem in our code or in the Xapian Python bindings. How do I debug

--delete bug?
I have a script that does a weekly backup on a local backup harddrive with the following command: # rsync -aRxW --delete / /mnt/backup Today I got errors because the target drive was full. It appeared nothing on the targed drive ever got deleted. When I used the following command to backup only my home dir, it worked as it should. # rsync -aRxW --delete /home/joost /mnt/backup Using rsync

Oggenc producing a different file every time
We are using the Ogg file format in our game Awesomenauts. Now whenever I rebuild our compressed music files from our uncompressed sources (WAV to OGG), oggenc.exe produces different files. They sound the same, but there are differences in the file. I did a checksum on the hex, and it turns out there are small pieces of similar differences throughout the file. This is a serious problem for us:

Package "Design"
Hi all, I'm planning to work through the book "Analyzing Linguistic Data" by R.H. Baayen, which is an introduction to R used for, well, what the title says. ;-) On the first page of the book, Baayen says that in order to work with the book, R needs to download and install a number of packages from CRAN. The problem is that one of these packages, "Design", has apparently

Short update: It seems that the workers go into some state in which they do not have a correct Rails environment (or db connection). When they enter this state it goes wrong all the time :( Joost Hietbrink (YelloYello) wrote: > Hi all, > > We''re experiencing some problems with Backgroundrb. > > Why is "# master_reactor_instance.result_hash = {}" commented in

Arrange values on a timeline
I have a set of labels arranged along a timeframe in a. Each label has a timestamp and marks a state until the next label. The dataframe a contains 5 such timestamps and 5 associated labels. This means, on a continious scale between 1-100, there are 5 markers. E.g. 'abc' marks the timestampls between 10 and 19, 'def' marks the timestamps between 20 and 32, and so on. a <-

Need help building combined model
I have two kind of variables. One kind where the values are continious and ranges from -1 to 5, and the other is boolean (i.e. true or false). For example: V1   V2  V3 V4 V5  V6 0.1  0.4   1    0   -1   3.7 0.4  0.1   2   -1   0    3.7 and V1  V2  V3 0     1    0 0     0    1 I want to make a model for classification, combining this two. Will it be wiser to use the second variable values

Vorbis decoding/multi-channel mixing
Hello Joost, I would like to say since you seem to understand what Vorbis is since you are in the appropriate list that you should not refer to it as "OGG". First, because Ogg is not Vorbis -- it's a container. Second, because Ogg is not an acronym. Vorbis decoding help is what you are looking for. With that said, let's see if I can help you. Joining Samba workstation as a Domain Member - Which is the correct way?
Hi everyone, In my environment I am running a Domain Controller, on ubuntu 16.04, samba v 4.11. My doubt is now on joining workstations to this domain. I was adding joining the command "samba-tool domain join...", however, I found in the samba page: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_Samba_as_an_AD_Domain_Member a note to don't use samba-tool: " The domain join
