The only running process is top itself. Below is hopefully the revelent output from dmesg and /var/log/messages. I have had this b4 but this is the first time I have been able to get any useful information

The machine usually locks and all I see is the assertion failure on

Hi. I was using ext3 0.0.1 without any problems in the last 33 days (same boot). / was still ext2, but I changed /etc/fstab to ext3. /home/ftp/pub/ is ext3. I mounted /home/ftp/pub/slakware/bare.i with loopback in /mnt/floppy/. After some time: ==> /var/log/syslog <== Jul 4 09:40:51 pervalidus kernel: Assertion failure in ext3_prepare_write() at inode.c:934: "handle != 0" Jul 4

tc htb stats
I have an htb qdisc setup and it is shaping my traffic wonderfully but I''ve just recently started taking a look at the output from the command tc -s class ls dev eth? Looking at the "rate" line I thought to myself..."cool I can use this to graph throughput avg.es without having to worry about the "Sent bytes" rolling over or being lost when the htb qdisc is

PROBLEM:
Ext3 Journal oops & RAID-1 set losing sync. (Sent to both EXT3 and Linux-RAID since both are in use and seem possibly relevant) I have had a number of problems maintaining a software RAID-1 set on an IDE box I maintain; it seems that doing raidhotadd on the drive marked as invalid works each time though. However, I've had both errors about trying to read past the end of the

HTB kernel panic crash!
(list admin, please cancel the same post from my other email address -- forgot to change it on first submission) I need to setup QoS on a linux router/firewall I maintain. I spent 10 hours reading everything I could find on QoS/HTB/iproute2 and came up with what I thought made sense for my situation. So I deployed it and BOOM! KERNEL PANIC! Not what I was expecting... now the debugging begins.

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares. Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for GET_DFS_REFERRAL instead its using microsoft-ds

[Bridge] Re: [2.4.22] bad interaction between e100 and bridge: BUG at dev.c:991!
Could the problem be that the e100 can do IP receive checksumming on the board, but the eepro driver doesn't enable it. When the board is doing checksum offload, then the csum field isn't set. Please try disabling receive checksumming on the e100 driver modprobe e100 XsumRX=0 If this is the problem, it exists both 2.4 and 2.6. On Wed, 27 Aug 2003 18:24:57 +0200 Hannes Schulz

Kernel panic is occured when multi VMs is booting togeter
This error is not 100% reproducible. However, kernel panic has been occurred many times for last two months. It usually happens when multi VMs (in our case, 14 VMs) are booting together. After we made three big changes to gain more availibility, it began to happen. Changes are : 1. Use *NAS* as vm storage for migration from local disk 2. Use *two bondings* for switch HA (with 4 nics) from
