I made it installing the KDE/KDevelop (SCO Skunkware), but when the configure find gcc, exit with a lot of errors without producing the Makefile! Any idea?
Thanks

get_share_modes problem
I have samba 2.0.5a running on Openserver 5.0.5 with the latest patches
installed. I got this specific version from Skunkware (SCO's
distribution of Open Source binary packages). AFAIK, they make no changes
to the actual source. I have no problems with using samba for name
service and printing, however with file sharing I am having some strange
problems. I sporadically get problems like

Browsing issues NT WS 4.0 and Samba
Hi Guys/Girls,
I have recently been trying to implement samba into our environment here as
a replacement for ftp clients.
What I am finding is that windows explorer (NT W/S 4.0) will not list all
the files in the directory or in fact all the sub directories either. It is
quite unusual, one of the shares we have contains two directories sun and
suntst. They are basically mirrors of each other (

Assistance request
Hi Samba team,
first I want to appologize for this spam, you probably get tons of such messages per day.
However I am desparate and sick of digging into newsgroups, mailing lists and everything else ;))
Since 1 year I am trying to find a way to make samba receive winpopup messages from Windows 2000, or Xp, using
the "net send" command.
Receiving messages from other linux machines

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4 (fwd)
You can download Ncurses for SCO OpenServer via
ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/skunkware/osr5/vols/ncurses-4.2-VOLS.tar
This is a tar archive of media images suitable for installation with
the SCO Software Manager (/etc/custom).
Cheers,

SAMBA digest 2289
I also set up samba 2.0.5a (binaries from Skunkware) on a SCO 5.0.5
server. I have a conf file, but it's on my laptop, and that's downstairs,
and I'm about to get ready to leave, so I'll dig it up later. :) From
what I remember though, all I changed was:
- the workgroup name,
- turned off browse master
- turned off the printing system
- set the guest user to 'nouser'

Windows 7 only connects if joined to the domain
I'm running 3.4.6 (was running 3.0.28a but upgraded in hopes to fix this issue). Clients running Windows 7 that are NOT joined to the AD domain (samba authenticates against it via "security = server") cannot authenticate to access the server. Clients running Windows 7 that are on the domain as well as Windows XP, Windows 2003 on and off the domain work as expected.

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4
I've downloaded Samba 2.2.6 (binaries) from SCOs Skunkware site, but
when I try and run smbclient I get a message :

I've checked and there is no libncurses.so.4 (or
libncurses.<anything> for that matter) on the system. I've also
failed to find anything relevant in either the list archive or SCOs

samba will not work for me... :/
I've had this problem since FreeBSD 4.3. This problem continues with my
FreeBSD 4.4 machine.
I can't connect from my Win98se and Win2kPro machines to my FreeBSD 4.4 Samba
server.
I've tried it all... but still no luck.
I've run smbd and nmbd manually with the "-D" parameter. I can connect
internally from my FreeBSD 4.4 box using "./smbclient

Samba Open Server 5 package?
Hello,
I'm having trouble installing Samba on a SCO Open Server 5 system. I have gone over the Skunkware CD and the Caldera Website. I can find TAR'd versions of SAMBA but for some reason it won't let me start smbd or nmbd without giving me a core dump.
Does anyone know either
1. why I'm getting the core dumps
or
2. If there is a package install for OSv5.
The reason I ask

print issue with 2.2.4a on FreeBSD
I have installed samba 2.2.7 on freebsd from the ports collections. I had a previous installation of samba 2.0 and I used my old smb.conf file to duplicate the funcationality I had. Trouble is, printing from winNT/2K clients doesn't work. Printing from win9x machines still does.
I've been through the docs on samba.org and looked in chap6 of HOWTO collection on printing and the

Upgrade to 2.0.6 not working
Hi All,
We have been running samba-1.9.18p10 beautifully for the past
year or so. Finally decided to upgrade to samba-2.0.6 and am
having no luck. We are using security=server such that the
users are using their NT login/password to authenticate. When
I test the 2.0.6 installation with smbclient, I get the
"protocol negotiation failure" message. Does anyone know what
this means? I

security = server problem
I am using Samba 2.0.9 on S1 SuSE box and Samba 2.2.5 on S2 Suse box. S1
is acting as PDC for 98, NT clients.
(logon script, shares from S1, and S2). Users's passwords are stored on
S1, S2 uses security = server and
password server = S1 options in smb.conf.
I have upgraded both to Samba 2.2.8, but the logon script wants to
connect to share from S2, it is
prompted for a password.
I have
