Password Sync problems
Hi, I've set up Samba 2.2.6pre2 with ssl, pam, pam_smbpass and ldap on a Solaris 9 server. Everything works fine in unix. However I cannot change passwords from a Windoze client (win98) which has successfully logged in to the samba domain. It seems that the password chat asks for the LDAP password of the user, which would be ther user's old password. But according to the docs,

Unable to call certain 800 numbers through Teliax
We are unable to call certain 800 numbers through Teliax but I thought I would post this here and see if anyone else had the same problem with either Teliax or other carriers. The 800 numbers causing problems pick-up the call right away and are in the US - American Airlines (8004337300) and Staples (800-378-2753) - we can call many other 800 numbers just fine. Our asterisk setup has a 4-port

MOH problems
I am trying to music on hold but I am having all sorts of problems with it. I am running RH9 and the latest version of Asterisk as of yesterday. Here is what I did to test it: 1. I manually deleted the mpg123 softlink to mpg321. 2. I downloaded mpg123-0.59r-1.n0i.src.rpm, compiled and installed the the archive and loaded ztdummy.o module. 3. I threw a couple extra files in the mohmp3 directory

/var/spool/samba retention period
It seems like the files sent to the samba spool and then over to CUPS seem to stay in the /var/spool/samba directory indefinately. Is there a fix to this via a configuration, or just setting up a cron job to purge? Thanks

Keeping icecast from kicking clients
I'm trying to setup Icecast so that clients can stay connected indefinately. Basically sources will connect on occasion, but may disconnect until they get instructions to connect again (think about a jukebox that does not play music until something is selected. Now add in distrubuted, thin clients and you realize why this is an important feature). According to the icecast authors, it is

Still getting a generator hang on 2.6.7
I've gotten around to testing the generator hang bug using stunnel under 2.6.7, and I still occasionally get the same problem. It seems to be around 50% of the time. Here's some strace output from the generator and receiver from two runs, one where the generator exits properly, and one where it doesn't. Run 2 hangs indefinately. Run 1 Generator: Process 14581 attached - interrupt

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Upstreaming LLVM/SPIR-V converter
'Maintenance and support obligations' - the only maintenance obligations would be don't regress our tests when you change code, that is no different from doing changes to any other target. Chandler raised some pretty important points in his reply, and we will need to address them. In Sam's original email he did say 'We are open to the SelectionDAG/MC approach if the

Upgrading to Verizon FIOS from Verizon DSL - Linux machine as router/Gateway/LAN server]
Greetings, A long time ago I setup a Linux machine as a Gateway/LAN Server using Verizon DSL as the ISP. I used the following HOWTO as the guide - DSL HOWTO For Linux: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DSL-HOWTO/index.html Is there something comprable for Verizon FIOS? My Gateway machine runs Fedora. For a new server, I'm considering setting up a CentOS machine, while still using Fedora on my

Time-based cache fragment expiration
Hello, I''m trying to figure out how I could implement fragment caching that expires every x amount of time. I thought of writing a runner script that would expire the cache and set it as a cron job, but that doesn''t really work because runner scripts act on models and not controllers. Does anybody have any ideas? Regards, -carl

Using a CentOS 6 Machine as a gateway/router/home server
Greetings, I'm rebuilding a machine to function as a gateway/router to Verizon DSL. It has two NICs eth0 and eth1 (static set to 192.168.1.1). eth0 connects to the DSL modem. I've setup Verizon DSL usine pppoe-setup, and it works. I can connect from home machines to the server (192.168.1.1); while logged in to the server, I can connect to both the internet, and the home machines.

libnet: sock_connected insists on a timeout
While working on integrating nonblocking IO into libshout, I noticed that sock_connected cannot be called without blocking. If I read it right, a timeout of zero will cause the call to block until the socket is connected. So, my questions: 1. Am I reading this right? 2. How should I poll a pending connection? I'd prefer to have a zero timeout act as a poll, but I don't know if any other

[LLVMdev] LLD: Layout-after and layout-before
Thank you for quick responses! As to dead stripping, if dead stripping is the only pass we need bi-directional edges, we might want the dead stripping pass to construct internal data structure by reversing the graph to construct layout-before edges from layout-after edges. This should be less error prone than maintaining two reverse-directional edges throughout all passes. Of course it will make

Hi Phil: That's EXACTLY what it is. Thanks so much. It's nice to know that the R Gods don't hate me. I hope it's okay that I'm going to cc r-help in case this thread comes up in the future and also so that other people who might want to help know that it's solved. Thanks again. Verizon SIP "trunking" Field Trial
All, We are in the process of trying to setup our network to use Verizon's SIP "trunking" product. They say that since Asterisk is not on their certified list of approved devices, we need to go through a field trial to get it approved before allowing us to use their service. Where we are at is getting the design approved. We are trying to watch our budget at the same time. We
