I'm trying to get Lacerte 2007 Tax Accounting software working on a

for approximately 45 XP clients and is fairly active. Windbind is used
to authenticate users from the pdc for the domain DOMAIN and works
swimmingly. Beats the pants off the NT4 box tht it replaced two weeks
ago.
More of an irritation than anything, but the winbindd log is filling

mv renames the wrong file
Hi,
Using Samba 3.4.3 server on Ubuntu 9.10 (compiled myself, since Ubuntu came with Samba 3.4.0).
Sometimes, mv commands don't do what I asked for!
This morning, I was in my Videos share, in the "Movies/Baby Einstein Mozart/" directory.
(I have the share mounted locally in /mnt/samba/Videos, on the same machine where samba server runs on.)
I issued the following command:

wbinfo -u not working against Windows 2003 DC
Hello all,
This is my first post on this list, so please bear with me. :-)
I'm managing a couple of Samba servers located at our customers. Since a
couple of weeks we have a problem with winbind on one of our samba
servers. It runs in a mixed Windows/Samba environment where a W2k3
server is the PDC. As far as I know it runs in mixed mode. Is there any
way I can check this (WINS is

nmbd woes (still)
Ok I've fed this problem with about five hours of my time to post to a list
about it. nmbd does not appear to be
doing what it should. Why I'm not certain. The unix host (running samba)
is not appearing in on the windows
browse list (i.e. it's not showing up in the network neighbourhood).
when I run nmbd with -d2 I get the following:
Netbios nameserver version 2.2.8 started.

[PATCH v3 03/16] drm: Nuke mode->vrefresh
From: Ville Syrj?l? <ville.syrjala at linux.intel.com>
Get rid of mode->vrefresh and just calculate it on demand. Saves
a bit of space and avoids the cached value getting out of sync
with reality.
Mostly done with cocci, with the following manual fixups:
- Remove the now empty loop in drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes()
- Fix __MODE() macro in ch7006_mode.c
- Fix DRM_MODE_ARG()

How can I use R-function in My C++ project ? (using optim)
As the author of 3 of the 5 methods in optim, I think you may be wasting
your time if this is for performance. My reasons are given in
http://www.jstatsoft.org/v60/i02
Note that most of the speed benefits of compilation are found in the
objective and gradient function, with generally more minor improvements
in the method.

problem with "dynformula" from "plm" package [RE-POST]
Hello list,
I'm following the paper (http://www.jstatsoft.org/v27/i02/paper) on
how to use "plm" to run panel regressions, and am having trouble with
what I believe should be something very basic.
When I run the command (p.9 in the paper):
R>
dynformula(emp~wage+capital,log=list(capital=FALSE,TRUE),lag=list(emp=2,c(2,3)),diff=list(FALSE,capital=TRUE))
I see:

4th DC Unable to Replicate - WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED
G'day All,
I've been setting up a new set of DCs, using 4.2.3 and all was
going well until I tried to get a 4th DC going. I'm using bind_DLZ, and
I think this is where I went wrong.
I provisioned the new DC before having set up bind properly (I
forgot to "yum install bind bind-util bind-libs") before hand. The
provision worked okay, except that it told me

Printer comments and other weirdness
Am running Samba 3.0.20 on SuSE 10.0 and cups as my printer provider. I've
used the cups gui to create a number of printers. They appeared correctly in
my Printers and Faxes folder in Explorer and I uploaded my print drivers
successfully. Now, a few days later, I'm looking at my printers and I notice
that the comments that show up on the print shares themselves still reflect
some old data

ggplot cumsum refined question (?)
OK, so maybe last night was a little too much at one throw, so I have
reduced the data to two stations- one that has precipitation and one
that does not. This is going to be in the context of a larger data
set. I would like to be able to issue a ggplot command and have cum
sum just act on the facets (factors) to apply this.

library(ggplot2)

Iterative Averages
Dear all,
I have a data frame of 2160 rows and 4320 columns, which I hope to condense to a smaller dataset by finding averages of 6 by 6 blocks of values (to produce a data frame of 360 rows by 720 columns).
How would I go about finding the mean of a 6 x 6 block, then find the mean of the next adjacent 6 x 6 block, and so on, until the whole data frame has been covered?
One slight twist is that
