Roaming Profiles with Samba PDC
I have been working on this problem for quite some time now and have not been able to find the solution. I have Samba running on Debian Linux 3.0 (Woody) as a primary domain controller. From my Windows 2000 desktop I am able to browse that Linux server with Windows Explorer. My biggest problem is trying to log in to that domain. Under Windows 2000 I am able to join the domain (sjmlinux) but

Tc Filter - Port Ranges Calculate Mask Value
Hi, I need to support port ranges in tc filter rules. I know how to formulate the rule but , I am not able to understand how to calculate the mask value for a perticular range so as to segregate the port values that lie within this range . I got the following sample "tc filter add dev eth1 parent 1:1 protocol ip prio 10 u32 match ip sport 0x1ae0 0x1ff0 flowid 1:10 This rule will match all

stem() bug?
Is the following a bug with stem() or is there something else that I am missing? I ran stem() on the vector x below and got stem(x-10) instead of stem(x). If I subtract 1 from x, I get a correct answer. If I add 1 to x, I still get a wrong answer. If I add 10 to x, I get a correct answer. I'm not sure what to make of this, other than to think it is a bug. Can anyone tell me if this is a bug?

Question about R mode
Hello all, I am using R to perform certain calculations on huge amounts of data. In short I need a function that does the mode function, ie returns the most common element. I looked at the mode function in R but it seems to return the type of the data element you give it. Does such a method exist? I have tried googling this to no avail as all the results lead me back to the mode function I do

Full_Name: Yutaka Hamaoka Version: 1.8.1(Raqua) OS: OSX 10.3 Submission from: (NULL) (218.140.186.74) Hi, I've found "stem()" falls into infinit loop when x has no variance. R 64 on Intel Mac check problem
Dear all, I have been following the instructions on http://cran.stat.sfu.ca/with the intention to install R with 64 bits support on an 8 core Intel Mac with 6 GB of memory. I am doing this so I can run an analysis that requires 1.6 gB of memory allocation and would not run on 32 bit version of R as I was advised and experienced. I have installed gcc 4.2 and gfortran 4.2 from the available sources

How do I format something as "0.000"?
Hi, I would like to use the format function to get numbers all with three digits to the right of the decimal point, even in cases where there is no significant digit left. For example, I would like to get c(0.3456789,0.0000053) as "0.346" "0.000". It seems that it is not possible to force format to print a "0.000", i.e. without any significant decimal places. Is it

Win2k logout exception error with Samba 2.2.3a-12.1
I am running Samba 2.2.3a-12.3 as a PDC on Debian 3 (kernel 2.2). All seems to be working with 2 exceptions. The worst problem is when I logout of my Windows 2000 desktop. While the Win2k machine says it is "Saving Settings..." it will come up with an error box giving me a fatal exception in application unknown. The message box title says something like: "SAS Window:

What version comes after 3.9? (Was: [3.9 Release] Release plan and call for testers)
I also support Chris's position of 4.0, 4.1 etc. I don't think "majorness" is that important, and we can sort out the bit code compatibility story some other way.

number of decimal places in a number?
Dear R users, I need a function that gets a number and returns its number of actual decimal places. For example f(3.14) should return 2, f(3.142) should return 3, f(3.1400) should also return 2 and so on. Is such function already available in R? If not, could you give me a hint how to achieve that? Many thanks in advance. -----------------------------------------------------------------
