NT domain logon questions
Hi. Myself and a anti-Micro$oft companion tried to get NT domain logons working yesterday and seem pretty close, but not quite. Samba is 1.9.18alpha3, server is an Ultra-2 running SunOS 5.5.1. Encrypted passwords seem to be working, a la smbclient and mostly from NT, "mostly" because it *seemed* to be working but we did have some problems with home directories in smbpasswd changing

Complete event id of : > But still, events log show a warning about kerberos ticket from LsaSrv > source and right after a permission denied on GPT.ini And a getfacl of the problem GPO SID please, i'll check. And a output of ipconfig /all on the problem pc. And question, dedicated IP or dhcp IP? Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba

I found this one. Check which one works for you. http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-40960-source-LSASRV-eventno-8508-phase-1.htm Im sure this is not a samba configuration problem. I hate 'me too' replies - but I have also been struggling with this for some years in my multi-DC environment. (yes, replicated sysvol via lsyncd + rsync; permissions looked identical via getfacl last time I checked). Sometimes a client machine will run gpupdate just fine; other times it will fail, seemingly randomly. My next step was going to be to run wireshark on a client machine to

GPO issues - getting SYSVOL cleaned up again
new thread, old issue been fiddling off-list with tips from Louis over the last days, and putting it back to the list to ask for help from others: 2 samba-4.9.11 DCs 1 samba-4.8.12 DM file server GPOs not working cleanly anymore tried to resync completely etc etc - right now I test gpupdate/gpresult on an older (not productive) W2008R2 server which I use for editing stuff via RSAT/MMC I

Ok, try this. Gif the pc a uid and check again. If it works then, its a share or security right. Gpupdate /force works because at that point you "user"/user has a uid and gid. The error occurs at start up because the COMPUTERNAME$ doent have access to that gpt.ini. Resetting sysvol in that case doent help because the right on the gpt.ini is set by the group you assigned to the

Samba4 domain controller ntlm_auth error - No logon servers (0xc000005e)
Hi, Formerly, I was successfully to use Samba 3.0.28a + FreeRADIUS 1.1.7 for Wi-Fi PEAP authentication against Windows 2003 AD. Now, I would like to replace Windows AD with Samba4. I build Samba4 successfully from source on Ubuntu 12.04.1 and the Samba4 domain controller seems function normally, e.g. able to work with the Samba4 domain with RSAT and edit the group policy. However, when I

ntlm_auth = NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS: No logon servers (0xc000005e)
I had to downgrade samba on a rh5.5 instance due to ntlm_auth not working properly: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=561325 Now, when I add the computer to the domain ('net ads join ?U Administrator') it seems to work, is visible on the AD interface, but the logs show an error: Nov 11 16:03:22 rhclient winbindd[4483]: [2010/11/11 16:03:22, 0]

To see which DC is used by Windows client: open a MSDOS console, type "set", look for LOGONSERVER=\\<your_dc> <your_dc> is the DC used to connect on. If issue comes from one DC I would have on sysvol synchronisation between DC, ACL on all sysvol, DNS entries (but I don't think that's a DNS issue if you have only GPO issue). 2016-03-29 14:51 GMT+02:00 Sébastien Le

winbind on AIX
I'm trying to get Samba on AIX 5.1 to work in appliance-like mode. I would like NT domain users to get automatically and persistently mapped to AIX/Unix users. This stuff seemed to work fine without much effort on Solaris 9, but AIX is a different story, and I'm new to AIX as well. AIX 5.1 doesn't use nss so winbind, in its current form, can't work. I saw a post from January

Sporadic Logon Issues from Windows 2003
I have a Samba server (3.0.37) acting as a domain controller for several computers running Linux, Windows XP, Windows 7, and just recently a Windows 2003 server that replaced a Windows NT server. A couple times a day, the Windows 2003 server generates an error like the one below for everyone that attempts to connect to it. Throughout the rest of the day, there is no issue at all, but several

Sorry for my delayed response, my job has had me out of state for a while. I wanted to add that I am not getting the Kerberos error in my event logs. It just flat out claims that it cannot read gpt.ini for some reason. This happens randomly, whether dc01 or dc02 is the logon server, and the strange part is that most PCs can work fine, but one or two randomly won't. In other words, if pc1 and

Hai, Yeah, you have probely one of these 2 problems. ( or both ) 1) This is probely because your "computer" *(user) does not have any acces. Recheck you permissions on the share and and folders for that specific policie. 2) Connections specific suffic and/or network suffic is wrong. Check if you pc is setup correct with dhcp. Ipconfig /all ( check these, and make sure you have

I dont read any france but translators work ok. ;-) pfew.. Ok any firewalling on the DC's? if so, open TCP and UDP port 88. Or try short without firewalls on, on the DC's. Other options to try is recude the MaxPacketSize in windows. Looks like a to big package which is rejected. Ow and above is also needed on the DNS port 53. Open tcp and udp. If the upd packages are to big,

Ok, same as im running. DC => (replicated zones) => Slave DNS << == Client pc's. Have you tried to reset the network id manualy from withing windows. ( where you change/add the computer to the network ) The button "change network-id." I have seen these things also with pc's which are wrongly syspreped. Which cases same SID's for the pc's. But

AD Auth Trusted Domain issues
I have been killing myself on this issue over the last 2 weeks. I have setup pam AD authentication using winbind on our companies email servers. That part is currently working. I have been trying to add an existing "Trusted" child domain and allow authentication from that domain as well. I am part of the way there, but not quite to the functional point as of yet. Our primary domain

Printing is broken in rc1?
I have upgraded recently from alpha22 to rc1. While trying to access printer properties from XP, i'm getting error "Runtime Error! program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe abnormal program termintation". Printing is not possible as well. This error is reproducable from any WinXP computer on network on any shared by samba printer. Printers are HPLJ2100, drivers are latest PCL6 downloaded
