Loop with string variable AND customizable "summary" output
Dear All, I am using R for my research and I have two questions about it: 1) is it possible to create a loop using a string, instead of a numeric vector? I have in mind a specific problem: Suppose you have 2 countries: UK, and USA, one dependent (y) and one independent variable (y) for each country (vale a dire: yUK, xUK, yUSA, xUSA) and you want to run automatically the following regressions:

outlook 2007 mailbox sort order
What are people doing to affect the sort order of mailboxes in outlook? Apple Mail and MS Outlook similarly suck in that they do not sort '~' correctly -- mailboxes starting with '~' are first instead of last. At least I think this is the fault of the client, since Mulberry sorts correctly. At least with Apple Mail I can drag and drop mailboxes into any display order I like, so

Arrow key feature request
Since keystrokes were brought up, this seems like a reasonable time to make the following seemingly simple-to-implement feature request: Navigating a multi-level menu structure seems to require use of UP/DOWN/ENTER/ESC. It would be easier to quickly search/navigate if it could be done with fingers stationed on the arrow keys so that the eyes can stay focused on the screen. Current

How do i switch off error wrapping for a specific field?
Hi, i have some issues with the default rails error wrapping. It wraps errors in a div with class ''fieldsWithError'', which is not good practice in my eyes. Adding a class ''error'' to the field would be much nicer. My solution to the problem: build your own FormBuilder. Funny enough, i found no (nice) possibility to switch error wrapping off while using the

unix-type commandline keystrokes in the windows RGUI
Hi all, I am generally quite fond of the unix commandline keystrokes (e.g. searching back in your history with [CTRL]-R, and cutting/pasting with [CTRL]-K/Y) which work in the R commandline in *nix. Does anyone know if there's any way to get similar functionality in the Windows RGUI? I know that as of now, [CTRL]-A and -E do the same as unix (beginning and end of line) and [CTRL]-Y does a

boxplot by factor (Package base version 2.1.1) ( PR#7976)
The issue is not with boxplot, but with split. boxplot.formula() calls boxplot(split(split(mf[[response]], mf[-response]), ...), but look at what split() returns when there are empty levels in the factor: > f <- factor(gl(3, 6), levels=1:5) > y <- rnorm(f) > split(y, f) $"1" [1] 0.4832124 1.1924811 0.3657797 1.7400198 0.5577356 0.9889520 $"2" [1] -1.1296642
