Problem with mapping, userid that gets sent by NT
I am having a problem with mapping drives to a samba server (1.9.18p4 and
1.9.17) that is very reproducible. The 1.9.18p4 is a modified server that
has some special krb5 support in it (in addition to the stuff you
previously added that I sent you).
Here are two examples that are repeatable. Each is preceeded by killing
any samba daemons that are for connections from the host in question.

Problem with AD/Samba and too many AD groups
I have a Redhat Enterprise Linux (v3.0) box running Samba 3.0.9-1.3E.3.
This box only has two Samba shares created on it, each of them with a
single "valid user" entry. The relevant smb.conf information is
included below.
The problem is that when user1 tries to connect to \\server\user1 and
authenticate via AD, the connection fails with a "unknown username or

LDAP Authorising users from Active Directory
Hi,
I am having stability problems setting up dovecot to authenticate
virtual users against Active Directory on Win2k3. If the correct userid
and password are used, everything works fine, see first logfile snippet
below. If an unknown userid is used, again everything works fine. If I
try logging in with a valid userid but get the password wrong, that
connection is rejected (see second logfile

samba + kerberos + active directory with multiple domains
I've almost got this thing working. I have it set up on a centos machine to authenticate logins and automounts to windows file servers. But it won't allow me to specify a domain as part of the userid. I can set a default domain in smb.conf and logging into that domain works like a champ. And I can list the other domains with "wbinfo --online-status" (not sure what

Problem with configurable Linux as a PDC with Windows 2000 clients
I was attempting to setup my Linux box as a PDC but have met some problems along the way....
I am using RH8 which carries samba 2.2.5.
I have a testbed with 1x Linux box, 1x Windows 2000 Professional (client). I have checked connectivity between the two pcs with a ping from both ends.
I followed the instructions suggested by "Samba Unleashed", configuring the smb.conf as follows:

Authenticating users via samba to an active directory
Chaps,
Got a small problem here that I could do with some help with.
I am looking at implementing 802.1X wired based network authentication
here and am using a RADIUS server called Radiator as the primary
authentication mechanism. Radiator has an authentication module that'll
allow user auth to an active directory via components of the samba
suite. The requirement is that the host samba

Active directory bind and quota stuff
Hi list,
first of all, please excuse me for any grammar mistake on my text, I'm
still learning english.
I'm making a Dovecot installation using my Active Directory like pass
and user DB. I'm setting the per-user quota from an AD field (Initials)
and everything seems to work fine, but I would like to know if you could
help me to improve a couple of things.

I am trying to ''connect'' two tables AdHour and Ad in the method below.

The error occured while evaluating nil.user_id"
I''ve included the model for both AdHour and Ad.
Why doesn''t the script like how I am connecting the

ntlm_auth, universal principal name, multi-domain active directory - can samba authenticate?
I posted a similar message on the freeradius list a few months ago and it
was suggested I come here. Now that this effort is once again underway I am
looking for some assistance.
We are trying to replace our existing AAA solution with FreeRadius. The
user base is contained in an Active Directory single forest-multi domain
model.
The only feature of samba that we need to leverage is the

Fairly sure I have said this already, but if I haven't, I will say it
now:
Do not use kinit to get the machines kerberos ticket, winbind has
