y-axis of lattice panels not printing to paper
Greetings, I am printing lattice plots from the R-interface to a printer, and although the y-axes of the left-most panels are visable on the screen, they are not present on the paper when there are multiple panels (ie, >1). For example: trellis.device(bg='white') histogram(~dbh, data=diameter.df) ###print to a printer from the R-interface by clicking the print button on the

Jitter buffer white paper?
Hi, Is there a white paper describing how the jitter buffer in Speex works and what "side effects" (such as introducing delay) can happen? In the past, I have implemented a similar "dual buffer" algorithm to try to smooth out lost or delayed packets with a fixed know delay (no larger than 2 times the Speex frame). Thanks. Produce graph that looks nice on screen and on paper
Hi all, I made a dotplot() with lattice, which comes out nice on the graphics device. I can save this as a eps using postscript() and include this in a word document. This prints nice, but does not look good on screen. If I produce a pdf, it is nice on screen, but not on paper. How can I save a graph that looks nice on paper and on screen? plots - paper vs presentation colors
Hi, I can't find a simple command to switch the plot colors from paper to presentation formats. Has anyone defined styles that can be easily applied in one command? It would be nice to have a command for papers, using ps or eps outputs, that has a white background and colors that will print nicely on that. On the other hand, it would be nice to have exactly the same plot for a presentation

Journal Quality R Graphs?
Hi! I have browsed the help archives but did not find anything on the subject: How to make publication quality graphs with R best? Is there some document about that topic out there? The problem is that the graphs look nice on the screen but when printed in black and white every color apart from black doesn't look very nice. Is there some guideline how to set color palettes and or fill

Changing default paper size to A4 on CentOS 5 (Kyocera FS1920 printer)
Hello, I have a Kyocera FS1920 network printer, and I run an up-to-date CentOS 5.6 x86_64 workstation. When I try to print with evince or Firefox the default paper size is always set to US Letter whereas the printer use A4. I have searched and other people seem to have the problem, but the only recommendations that I have found boil down to setting the default paper size to A4 in the CUPS

White papers or success cases to convince a customer?
Can anyone recommend some White Papers or Success Cases that we can use to ease the mind of a customer that has not heard much about Asterisk? Website, book, paper, etc. that shows example plots of distributions?
By any chance is any one aware of a website, book, paper, etc. or combinations of those sources that show plots of different distributions? After reading a pretty good whitepaper I became aware of the benefit of I the benefit of doing Q-Q plots and histograms to help assess a distribution.   The whitepaper is called: "Univariate Analysis and Normality Test Using SAS, Stata, and SPSS*" ,

New printing concept of wine
Hi, I´m allways using the recent versions from cvs (prebuild from dailywine) and I stated that I have to reconfigure my wine printing. Before I used the wineps.drv driver but now wine seams to work with the printers defined in /etc/printcap. But there are some little questions left by me although I got it printing well: 1. How can I make another printer as default printer different from the

No paper tray list in printer setup
In wine some Windows applications, e.g. Lotus 123, do not show a selection box for to change the Paper Tray of the printer. In the printer propertes box only "paper size", "align" and "duplex options" are displayed. But there is no paper feed option list available. Is there any way to get this feature for all applications? Printer model is OKI C5700. The printer is

paper size in postscript driver
I have a non-PS printer setup to print under linux using ghostscript as a filter. This printer has two paper trays, one has letter paper, the other tabloid size paper. If I print from a program that uses a PPD file to configure the printer, like StarOffice or The Gimp, I can select the paper size from a nifty list. If I select letter size, the printer print with paper from the letter tray. If

How to convert color to black & white
Dear all, Could someone please explain to me how to convert color to black & white. For example: barplot(1:5,col = rainbow(5)) Because I need to print my plot to save my ink color printer. I don't want to convert to grayscale, but keep it as an RGB. I would be very happy if anyone could help me. Thank you very much in advance. Kindly regards, Muhammad Subianto

Newb needs help with Lotus Ami Pro
Hi, folks. I'm new to both Ubuntu Linux and Wine. I've been running Lotus Ami Pro for years under Windows 98 and have about 70MB of Ami Pro files. Nowadays, though, printers are not made to support Windows 98 anymore. I had heard about WINE, and rather than buy another Microsoft product, I decided to see if I could run Ami Pro under another OS. My new printer works perfectly under

Abiword as test of Wine
One problem with Wine has been that there were few serious open source win32 applications out there to test Wine with (ok, maybe my opinions are from 1997 :-) In any case, we have some great open source Win32 applications to test with. AbiWord is one. I just tried installing AbiWord 0.9 under the latest Codeweavers preview. The install worked -- but generated about a billion warnings of the

getting rid of hp c3180
I have a hp photosmart C3180 all-in-one and am well and truly sick of it. It seems like every time I go on another printing binge, I need yet another print cartridge. hp-clean doesn't help. IIRC this use it or lose it "feature" is common to inkjets. What should I replace it with? If I want a non-cloggging printer, is laser jet the way I need to go? I'd like to do color

compressing the plot's white space
I need to fit a graph into a column of a 2-column paper. I found that just specifying width and height parameters (3.2in x 3.5in) to plot doesn't decrease the fonts of the main title, axis titles, and labeling numbers, and tick sizes. So I have to add cex to all labels and titles and manage ticks. However, I can't decrease the space between axis label and numbers on ticks. Is there a

Bug#298291: logcheck-database: Printer out-of-paper reported
Package: logcheck-database Version: 1.2.34 Severity: minor I have parallel port attached printer and kernel reports whenever printer is out of paper: Mar 6 12:38:50 host kernel: lp0 out of paper However, this is not a situation that should be reported by default (IMHO) by logcheck sending report email. Thus I propose adding following line to ignore.d.workstation/logcheck (possibly to .server

I've always HATED printing with Samba
Primarily because I've never gotten it to work despite frequent efforts. Offeding printer is a Lexmark Z53 (supposedly fully supported) and when ever I try to add it to an XP box I get "Server doesn't have the right driver, do you wish to upload the driver?" then when I do it says "Cannot connect to the printer.
